Romney poll surge scares Democrats
The Washington Examiner's Washington Secrets ^ | May 21, 2012 | Paul Bedard

It’s not getting a lot of attention, but the end of the embattled GOP primary fight has led to a broad poll bounce for Mitt Romney that is starting to scare Obama advisors. To name a few:

-- CBS News/New York Times has Romney over President Obama by a margin of 46 percent to 43 percent. In their new poll Romney also now leads among women by 2 percent and has seized independents 43 percent to 36 percent.

-- Gallup has Romney’s favorability rating jumping from 39 percent in February to 50 percent. Among independents he’s seen an 11 percent rise to 48 percent favorable.

-- Rasmussen shows him winning North Carolina, home to the Democratic National Convention, 51 percent to 43 percent.

It has one Democratic advisor telling Secrets, “I’m worried. I keep asking myself what is it that he is saying that would have voters go for him again. They need to find that message.”

It is a shame to us conservatives that the GOP isn’t sending a conservative or even a moderate against Obama. Any candidate we chose could have beaten Obama.

Obama’s no longer being judged by what he says. His “message” is now clear, and it’s in his actions.

There’s nothing he can say to change the perception of his presidency now.

“What message would that be?”

“Our push towards communism isn’t working! We must try harder!”
