He also laid out his five-point plan to create 12 million jobs in the United States.

The entire text of Romney's speech can be found here.

re: “I am picking a fight with the Federal Government.”

No, you’re not. You just want to get a rise out of people to get your jollys (I guess).

I’m in SoCal as well. If we were like the Carolina’s (North and South), I have no doubt Romney would carry SoCal. But NorCal is rabidly left that I still say the state is safe for 0bama. He won’t get 62% of the vote like he did in 2008 but most likely pull down 53-55% of the vote here. But you never know

Easily the best acceptance speech, since Reagan, blew the Bushes, Dole and McLame’s away.

They guy is a total and complete square, a powerpont geek, and clearly a family guy. The kind of guy you’d want as your rich uncle or next door neighbor.

Heh. I'm about as square as they get from a 'modern' point of view. Yet, I use PowerPoint, I'm a family guy, I'm not rich (by a long shot...) but I'm an uncle. My next door neighbors don't like me much, but that's because I don't like their slovenly ways.

Maybe Mitt Romney and I have something in common...

I seem to remember from back then that he was born in Panama proper, not the Canal Zone.

McCain was born in the Canal Zone, which is an American Territory

Oh noes, we've been invaded by China.

The contrast between the Romneys and the obamas could not be more extreme. Voting for Romney is our only choice to save America.

It is stark and unavoidable. The Obama's have NEVER known an 'altruistic' thought. Despite their best efforts; they can only feign a 'patriotism'. The Romney's are clearly patriots. Irrespective of where they were born; both the Obama's grew up as America-hating outsiders. And they still are.

Interesting caller on Rush today; contrasting Ryan's speech/comments not just about his Mother; but his Grandmother. How she was loved and cared for; even during her worst times with Alzheimers. Comparing Ryan's love and respect; against the comments of Obama, when he spoke of his Grandmother who raised him. (She was, in his loving words; a "typical white woman".)

Nuff said; there is so much in that; and we all 'get it'.

“President Obama has thrown allies like Israel under the bus
even as he has relaxed sanctions on Castro’s Cuba. He abandoned
our friends in Poland by walking away from missile defense
commitments.”

SOLD!

“This time, I feel like the (R) running for president really wants to win. McCain made me feel like he didn’t care whether he won or lost.”

I think you hit it right on the nose about McCain. I’ve long felt that McCain was at a point where having “his turn” to run was more important than winning, and that his legacy mattered more to him than victory. Even Bob Dole fought harder than McCain.

I thought it was good, bordering on very good. Well delivered.

Coming into tonight I thought Romney had to tell us--beyond the obvious, i.e., how Obama has failed--Romney had to tell us about two things: The Man, and the Plan. I would have liked to have heard a little more detail on the Plan. I got the five main points but would like to have heard him flesh those out a little more.

Didn’t want to hear a word out of his lyin’ mouth, so I didn’t watch it. Newt/West, 2016.

Funny thing - both Newt Gingrich and Allen West were there for Romney's speech, and both solidly support Romney against Obama. A plain talker like LtCol West would rip you a new one for even thinking about sitting down while your buddies joined the fight.

Romney’s ‘help’ will be to
- repeal Obamacare
- unleash American energy independence
- reform Taxes and entitlements
- fix our deficit and debt crisis
- push school choice

That’s good enough for me

Heh. Have been researching my father-in-law’s injuries at Vire, France on August 8, 1944 during WWII. That revived my lost interest in WWII history over that of the Civil War and American West. Now am reading “Challenge for the Pacific: Guadalcanal: The Turning Point of the War” by “Robert Leckie”. What a great, first person, history. Semper Fidelis to you, though I don’t qualify to state that honor...

I agree completely. It was “his turn” and he was going to take it. I don’t think he really wanted to win.
