A new poll by a Catholic advocacy group shows President Barack Obama has a slight lead over Gov. Mitt Romney among non-Hispanic Catholics, despite the stalled economy and his 2012 establishment of church regulations requiring them to fund contraception and abortion-related services that they abhor.

The poll of 2,629 likely Catholic voters, an unusually large sample, showed that 46.5 percent of non-Hispanic Catholics support Obama, while 45.6 percent support Romney.

Good point, and good news for Romney.

I guess they will love to read this

Obama orders Jewish and Muslim restaurants to serve pork
Snip-
“—-Not in the least,” the President chuckled. “Just look at the Catholics. I shoved the abortion rights agenda down their throat and there was barely a whimper from that bunch. Geeze, I even got an invitation to dinner from Cardinal Dolan,” he grinned. “They voted for me last time and they will again this time. I may have offended a couple of Catholics, but they are still going to vote for me—and I picked up the abortion vote by ordering the Catholic insurers and employers to pay for abortion drugs and reproductive services. It was a good trade off after all.”

46.5 percent minus 45.6 percent equals HOW MUCH???

My calculator is calling it about 0.9% difference, or 0.009, or 23 individuals difference out of the 2,629 included in the sample.

8 points? he gets 46.5% and Romney 45,6% —> that’s 0.9% ‘lead’

I’m not Catholic (I am a Lutheran) but I don’t know how anyone who is Catholic can vote for the pro homo marriage, pro baby killing 0bama.

i'm Catholic and I don't know how either...stupid idiots

But I like the way the poll is twisted -- 48% are registered Dimocrats and obama still gets only 46.5% as opposed to 45.6% for Romney. That's 0.9%, not 8 and that too among a group dominated by registered Dims

it seems like the lib media is aiming to tell all of us "Obama is going to win. you conservatives don't come out to vote -- it's no use, we tell ya"

They must be covering up Obama's inadequacies really desperately.

We must be all the more determined to get every single conservative voter out there to vote.

It's all a bluff, just like Obama's whole term.

Half the country is on welfare or some sort of assistance; the other half is fighting mad. Even the deadbeats know the game is up; we're out of free stuff.

Headline says it all...many Catholics are like Republicans...in name only and not obliged to any authority or deity except the one they have erected in their hearts and minds...themselves.

"+15 Dems means Romney leading by 6 by their poll. The media is not telling you the truth...again."

Exactly. Any of those who actually still believe om these partisan, wildly inaccurate, Democrat driven polls are among the truly naive. I am amazed at how brazenly consistent these polls are in oversampling Democrats by a wide margin. +15 Democrats, this is compleley bogus! They have the gall to call this a legitimate, statistically accurate poll? Please. This is just another attempt by the media to depress and demoralize the Romney voter. And it won't work. I would love to see the look of shock and dismay on the faces of these sham polsters on election day when millions of Romney voters stampede to the polls to vote the Marxist-in-chief out of office.

“Why would catholics, or any american, support a communist muslim?”

Why would Catholics support a pro-abort, pro homosexual cultist?

It’s like asking them if they prefer consuming arsenic or antifreeze.

“I’m not Catholic (I am a Lutheran) but I don’t know how anyone who is Catholic can vote for the pro homo marriage, pro baby killing 0bama.”

Both candidates are pro baby killing and pro homo marriage. So it’s a wash on both issues.

“That would be the northeastern Catholics, like the kennedy’s and other liberal so-called catholics like pelosi.”

Non-hispanic Catholic here... Not supporting either one. We aren’t all liberals, y’know. Last I checked Paul Ryan is one too. ;)

True enough, we live in strange times.

I really like the Charlie Daniels quote,"Americans will come to their knees before God one way or another'"

THe headline does not square with the story. The story reads as if it is about a 1 point lead.
