Poll: Romney the frontrunner in 2016?
CNN's Political Ticker ^ | June 19, 2014 | Paul Steinhauser, political editor

He's said over and over that he won't run for the White House a third time, but a new poll indicates that if Mitt Romney changed his mind and made another bid for president, he'd be the frontrunner among Republicans in the first-in-the-nation primary state of New Hampshire.

According to the Suffolk University/Boston Herald survey, which was released Thursday, 24% of Granite State Republicans and independents who lean towards the GOP say that Romney would be their first choice for their party's presidential nomination.

Among the potential 2016 GOP contenders, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was a distant second, at 9%, with Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky at 8%, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 7%.

While the survey may make headlines, it's important to remember that Romney's very well known in New Hampshire. He owns a vacation home in the state, has often appeared at GOP events in New Hampshire, and was governor of neighboring Massachusetts. Romney easily won the 2012 Republican primary, but lost the state by six percentage points to President Barack Obama in the general election....

You couldn’t be more incorrect if you tried.

This premiere conservative website is FULL of people who won’t vote for Romney and would rather have Hillary win. They also won’t vote for a Bush, they would rather have Hillary.

Don’t bother asking them who they WILL vote for, it ruins their victimhood.

Honest to God, with Obama destroying the country, most of the “we hate anyone other then the invisible perfect conservative” group are doing exactly what the libs want them to do.

Good job.

Romney gives out free pizza. Go get some. Comes with a free “I heart Liberals” participation trophy.

Are we sure of those numbers? Yes on election night it looked like Romney got 3 million less than McCain/Palin but I think the revised numbers came in slightly higher for Romney than McCain.

I don't know for sure. It does seem that every time he speaks on some salient issue these days, he wants to boil the base of the Republican Party.

Wow there’s one from the past.

He said in an article here tonight that he’s got a thing for the Jebster. He’s probably still going to vote for Slick Willie’s bookseller wife though.

I remember during the Clinton era he was a constant presence on tv running interference for BJ and Hillary.

One of those smarmy types like Shuck Chumer who make my skin crawl just seeing their photo.

“Scott Walker. The Conservative superstar of the year.”

A man with a decent resume, and already vetted by the dems via a vicious recall and does well in a blue state.

An excellent choice except, first time presidential candidates usually get beaten up the first time out. It is the second time around that they win the nomination.

Santorum and Romney both have large national organizations left over from 2012 and large fund raising lists to call. They have name recognition and both won Iowa sort of and both did well in NH. Either or both will be very tough opponents.

“Is that what you call an impeccable personal history?”

Yes. I mean impeccable personal history means not Bill or Hillary’s personsal history. I mean Romney coud baby sit for you and you would not have to hide the silver ware or use a chastity belt on your kids. I mean that romney’s personal traits are excellent. Maybe his political views are not your cup of tea, but Romney as a person is excellent.

After the slap in the face to conservatives with an amnesty lover they just elected majority leader in the house, it should be abundantly clear that if Romney had been elected we would already have amnesty for all illegals, and Obamacare would have been tweaked to Romneycare.

He told us down here in Florida that his foreign policy was not that different from Obama’s. Gays would still be in the military, since he was for that before Obama. With the help of the Uniparty, the crap and tax bill would have been passed since he loved that in Massachusetts while governor. And we would be fighting tooth and nail to keep our RKBA since he believes in gun control. He would probably bring in some new ideas like paying for welfare recipients extra expenses like car insurance. To pay for extra expenditures he would raise taxes and if people didn’t like the idea of a raise in taxes, he would come up with some new fees.

Like Obama, Romney has no problem with unilateral governance (tyranny). He single handedly brought gay marriage to Massachusetts and subsequently the US by his unilateral action as governor. Because he lies so much, I wouldn’t presume to know which are the areas he would unilaterally act upon first.

Is he the same as Obama? No. Is he as dangerous as Obama? Yes, perhaps even more dangerous because he shares the same defects as Obama, but he is more devious and he has the backing of both wings of the Uniparty. That may bring joy to the Uniparty loyalists, but it is a dangerous situation to conservatives.

Romney could have won every debate against the idiot in the Whitehouse. He threw the last two debate but I guess you forgot or believed Obama was smart enough to win the last two. Romney threw them on purpose.

I wasn’t. Just pointing you to a more politically aligned place you would seem better suited to be at.

Because here, we know what a POS Romney is.

Actually, his supporters are bigger losers than he is. I mean look at them. 2 years later and after all the post mortems proving he tanked the election, after his liberalism was shown to all, they pine for him.

What else do you call that besides loser? Evil and incredibly stupid sure. But losers fits too.

Yea - I agree. We will see a Hillary presidency if we don’t get behind a candidate that can actually beat her. If people want to vote on their core values and on issues that are important to them, that’s everyone’s right. But if a core conservative cannot sell their message effectively enough to the public, and cannot beat Hillary in any polls, I am not wasting a vote to see Hillary for 8 years because that will happen.

Didn't one of those include Candy Crowley's unabashed support of Obama at Romney's expense.

If I remember correctly that was enough to throw him off his game.
