CURL: 1%: Hillary is 2016’s Mitt Romney
The Washington Times ^ | June 22, 2014 | Joseph Curl

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

Hillary Clinton is, without question, a smart lady. She has been a senator and secretary of state, after all. So no dummy, she.

But is she smart enough to not run for president in 2016?

She was beaten handily in 2008 by a first-term senator named Barack despite the feared Clinton Rolodex of party high rollers. And while her favorability rating has risen steadily, especially since she left the public eye early this year, millions and millions of Americans who opposed her in 2008 — Republican and Democrat — are still out there.

Things are off to a terrible start. Has there ever been a more disastrous rollout of a presidential candidate than Hillary’s this past month? She couldn’t answer what she’d do in Iraq. She was caught in a lie about her health — outed by her own husband. Then she said they were “dead broke” when they came out of the White House (they had two houses worth at least $5 million). On Saturday, she said she and Bubba are not “truly well off,” despite Bill’s $100 million bankroll.

Worse, her 656-page book has been roundly panned — even by liberal outlets like The Washington Post. Some critics found it boring, staid, cautious, defensive. First-week book sales were dismal: 85,721. (Sarah Palin’s first week book sales: 467,604.)

Still worse, questions about her health continue to swirl....

I think you give millenials too much credit. They buy the leftist line and will blame conservatives, Republicans, Christians or whomever for all the problems under the sun. And soon enough they will desensitized enough and detached enough that they won’t mind offing whoever their leftist leaders tell them is the bad people

After her “Dead Broke” fiasco and her pathetic “I’m not well off” followup, one would think those clots in her brain are getting bigger.

I’d love to be in a forum where she tries to imply “not well off.” My question to her would be, “Exactly HOW did you come to this venue?” “Did you drive yourself?” “Did you fly?” “On a scheduled Airline?” “First Class or Coach?” No? “Oh, okay, you flew in a private corporate jet, huh?”

Random thoughts-A lot depends on whether or not there is an attractive alternative as their was for the Dem's in 2008. But, there is plainly something wrong with someone that wants to go back to the White House after leaving it after 8 years. But, I doubt after serving for so long she has the fire in the belly to claw her way back in. Just my disjointed two cents.

“...book sales were dismal: 85,721”

If her royalty rates are anything like mine, she made a little over $2.14 million last week on these “dismal sales”.

I wouldn’t complain about that.

Hillary Clinton is smarter than her supporters...which does NOT make her smart.

Hillary is where she is because she rode Bill's coattails their entire marriage. Without him she is nothing.

Bill and Hill have made millions of $$$$ and the only jobs they have created are ghost writers.

The only thing they have ever made is another speech!

Demographics are destiny.

Wrong. MORALITY is destiny. Demographics are pretense.

It is why believing demographics = destiny leads to disaster and moral malaise, just like voting "against" leads to disaster and political malaise. BOTH concepts, voting "against" and that demographics determine destiny, are false and imaginary, THEREFORE operating on a false foundation leads to disastrous results.

Morality is what determines destiny. Demographics are solely a PRETENSE to divide and segregate voters into groups.

I hear ya’ but they buy it as long as it’s the cool kids thing to buy it.

I don’t think they as a whole are going to be organizing July 4th parades or WalMart appreciation day festivities anytime soon, don’t get me wrong. However I really believe that they are in fact going to crash into reality real soon now.

Another example I use is look at their entertainment. All GoPro cameras, mountain bikes, exotic type locales ect. What happens when Joe Hipster goes out to X mountain for some totally bitchin Wingsuit flying and the mountain is now off limits to wing suits? Or the downhill mountain biker meeting the “No mechanical conveyance” sign at the trailhead?

Back when I did the Off-Road stuff I saw that happen semi often. The more well known example (in those circles) being one of the big mountain bike groups siding with Sierra to ban evil OHVs. Then Sierra, after that assistance helped them win an OHV ban, turned IMMEDIATELY on the mountain bikers and told them, we we SAID no mechanical. That meant you guys too! That was 15 years ago and it has happened with increasing frequency since across the spectrum.

Those were not evil right wingers closing areas and banning their fun then or now. And they know it. They just have to hit the tipping point where the left becomes more a burden on their fun than a ‘cool kids’ group to hang in. And daily its happening as the left grabs more power and Auth-or-I-tay from THEM. Because they already burned through most of the control points with the right. Now they are grabbing the issues near and dear to millenials ans spoiling THEIR fun.

And when you consider that those millenials were trained from birth that they were special, unique little snowflakes that the world exists to revolve around them, I do not see a whole lot of Lolcats hazzing a happy on the horizon.

When they run smack into reality they will search the same leftist sources for answers and end up blaming conservatives. They have no frame of reference to do any actual thinking.

e. but Sure. But all the leftist sources promote the leftist view of saving the planet for example. They can’t say the Koch Brothers closes the mountian because all their literature says that Sierra and Greenpeace and all the leftist groups had to do it to save it from evil capitalists.

There is nothing IN that literature to blame us. And if their were, it would be a Spock/Robochick moment for them. does not compute. I am counting on the fact that the left trained them so very thoroughly that they can’t reverse their programming. I have personally seen the results.

Whether that happens wide scale is the only question.

I don’t think there’s a single candidate for president on either side who isn’t a One Percenter

I doubt that Ted Cruz or Sarah Palin are in the top one percent. Look at their bios.

True, but look at how many Sarah Palin sold in the first week. What does that add up to? And that was only her first book!

Have you ever been in the non-tour part of the White House? I have, since I worked there, so I understand that part. But she must not be allowed to win.

LOL!

Thanks for the laugh. I love being reminded of the Beast’s failures.

Speaking of which, anyone ever think of this: she has suffered a wound to the head, but has survived.... (Cue spooky music!!)

Single women adore her. If her health gets worse, which is a very real possibility, then the GOP will be ok.....otherwise she’s going to be difficult to beat.

And yet she couldn't even win the Democrat's nomination last time.

Sigh....

2DV, you koolaid drinking palinbot, you clearly avoided mentioning the screechy voice tax levied on her. It probably took 79.4 percent of her income. She could have avoided it with a voice coach ;)

I doubt that Ted Cruz or Sarah Palin are in the top one percent. Look at their bios.

They're both multi-millionaires. Palin has done well from her books, TV shows, and speaker fees. Cruz's wife is a division manager for Goldman Sachs so I imagine their combined annual income is approaching seven figures. I'd say that both are in the top one percent.

It takes about $10-12 million to be in the top 1%.

It takes about $10-12 million to be in the top 1%.

Top one percent in terms of income takes about $350,000. The Cruz family income in 2012 was $1.25 million. I'd say he's in the one percent.

Palin's net worth in about $12 million and she was earning a million a year at Fox. I've no doubt her current income is well about $350k.

And again, I can't think of a single person talked about for the presidency who isn't a multimillionaire in their own right.
