The Difference Between Winners And Whiners: The midterms will provide a valuable object lesson
The American Spectator ^ | September 29, 2014 | David Catron

Democrats think conservatives in general, and Tea Partiers in particular, are stupid. Here’s how to reinforce that belief: Sit out the 2014 congressional elections because your favorite candidate lost his primary bid to an establishment Republican. If you live in Kansas, for example, you can suck your thumb while Democrat ringer Greg Orman beats Republican Senator Pat Roberts. If you’re a Kentucky conservative, you can stay home and bitch about Mitch while Alison “Rubberstamp” Grimes heads to Washington. If you’re in Mississippi, you can stay mad at Thad and allow Travis “no repeal” Childers to win. That’ll show those RINOs!

It isn’t necessary to speculate about the results of such petulance. We are already suffering the consequences of a similar tantrum. As R. Emmett Tyrrell pointed out last week, about 4 million conservatives declined to participate in the 2012 presidential election: “The wise psephologists tell us that these conservatives did not like Romney. He was too bland for the Tea Partiers.… Frankly, I do not know why they stayed home given the choice between a community organizer and a former governor.” Regardless of the rationale, those abstainers are responsible for the domestic corruption and foreign policy disasters of the last two years....

Even the moderates voted 100% against Obamacare.

All moderates would have backed a residual force in Iraq.

And they would pass Keystone.

A far cry from Reid's Senate.

I will vote for GOP candidates, then fight to push any wussies to the right.

Any difference is by a few degrees.

I would back any GOP candidate over Reid if he/she voted against Obamacare.

How exactly is that going to work, when the 14 gangsters rear their
ugly heads again to clog up conservatives issues in the senate?

What excuse will you offer then?

I have not voted GOP in the POTUS General since 1996. If the GOP wants my vote they had best get their act together and dump the likes of Self Anointed Party Commander Rove. Thanks for letting us know. I’m sure happy with your President. Thank you for your service.

Uh let's get something straight here. It was "YOUR" beloved side of the GOP who ran a candidate that said Obama would make a great POTUS and then surrendered the race to him. Do you remember that?

I've vote Constitution Party candidates in the POTUS General Election since 2000 but have voted for GOP Conservatives in the GOP Primaries first. But the primaries is part of the problem. The POTUS primaries need to be a one day national election so all states get an actual say in the matter. Right now Liberal states choose the candidate.

No excuse. I'll fight for the conservative cause if necessary. And I'll rejoice on issues like Keystone which will pass.

But with Reid no debate is allowed.

If you have a GOP Senate you will have conserservatives given more power. Cruz, Inhofe, Sessions, etc have a good chance at gaining roles, even Chairmanships.

My sides are hurting laughing so hard. The GOP-E will control the senate IF the GOP wins the senate unless there is a very huge GOP victory of about 12 plus seats of conservatives to offset the tyrants within the GOP senate.

However if GOP gains simple majority you will not see any Conservatives holding important Chairmanships. First thing to happen the GOP-E with DEMs help will put a Left Leaning Schmuck Moron in as SML. Look for McConnell, Alexander, Corker, McCain, etc type to be holding that position. You just don't get it. Those senators are DEM's. They vote often with the DEM's their policies are functioning as DEMs on policy and vote often with the DEM. They receive funding likely from the ones funding the DEM's.

Cruz, Inhofe, Sessions, & others who do fight the good fight will be told to go to the back of the bus, to shut up, and vote with the Bipartisan agenda. The GOP has failed to put forth a strong Conservative SML in over 30 years. No "Bob Dole Says" and "Part D Frist" do not count as being such.

Something has to give soon. As long as the Conservative voters listen to the likes of GOP apologist and Rove, as long as they keep acting like battered wives to the GOP-E by apologizing, making excuses for them, and supporting them, then the GOP-E will keep on abusing them.

You better check some voting records. RINO's like Alexander will block it when it comes right down to it. So would Corker most likely if enough DEMs friends asked him too. That is why Harry has been able to run roughshod over the GOP.

I do not know how to make the changes necessary to reverse any of this. Not enough people seem to care.

I'll tell you how to make the changes. Stop rewarding the GOPe with your vote! Why would you continue to vote in a traitor who will be "one of those moderates who sold the conservatives out?"

If you are "holding your nose," you are voting for the enemy and rewarding those who have destroyed the party and the country!

Voting for a RINO is worse than voting for a Democrat. Every close vote in recent history that has benefited the left has been passed by RINOs. And now RINOs run the party and its new ministry of propaganda. Vote only for conservative GOP candidates. If you can't, write in the name who should have been there--in your case, Bannon.

It may appear to be a trivial act of defiance or even disloyal, but its the only way to restore the party and the country. The GOP will not change until they learn that nominating RINOs will guarantee a loss.

We need to stick together and hold the ground until that happens, and it will. Do not listen to the party above principle lies. That is exactly what gave us Obama and has destroyed the party itself.

We do not have to hide behind carefully-crafted, focus-grouped, propaganda-ministry-approved messages designed to be inoffensive and ineffective. True conservatism, articulately presented, will win. People are tired of the lies and the mealy-mouthed amoral traitorous politicians. Do not abandon the truth to the lies of those whispering in your ears about party loyalty over principle. They are deceived or deceivers.

The only winning strategy for this election, and for the long term, is not to vote for any RINOs. Vote only for conservative Republicans.

And this man a Republican who may well be SML will do what about Keystone? You might ought to read this. Sen. Lamar Alexander declared Tuesday that he will back a new federal "clean air rule" despite a television ad campaign that says he is joining President Barack Obama's "war on coal" by doing so.

Nonsense. Alexander would never be the sole vote against Keystone.

It will pass with Dem help (unions are in favor of it) and Obama will be under huge pressure to sign it.

Capital B. Capital S.

Electing RINOs will ensure that Obama gets his appointments. All it will take is one or two traitors and the GOP has plenty. Until the leadership changes, and I ain’t talking about Reid, nothing will change.

No RINO-led Senate or House will advance a conservative agenda. Getting in bed with dogs only gets you fleas; getting in bed with traitors gets you killed.

Wake up! Do not put party above principle.

McConnell will be Senate Majority Leaders. The only reason he wouldn't is if he had been defeated. Well, he is pulling off a victory.

That being said, conservatives are gaining power and the GOP leaders won't blow that by blocking them from influence. They have a 2016 race coming up and they will be working to form alliances with Cruz, Inhofe, Sessions etc.

The country is waking up to some of the black/muslim/commie shenanigans that have gone one over the years. Reforms that were not possible over the last decades are now possible and the entire GOP knows it.

You will never have a pure party. We had 100% floor vote against Obamacare but 1 GOP Senator (Snowe) voted for it in committee. To believe in 100% purity is utopian.

However, even if Alexander was to vote against Keystone it will still pass, especially if we pick up a few extra seats. A number of Dems will help to pass it (unions are in favor) so the bipartisan aspect will put extra pressure on Obama. Just because you can't count on a couple of votes from the GOP doesn't mean you should trash the whole party. Working to pass Keystone is a good thing; it will never happen with Reid in charge.

I agree with the argument in general but the Cochran episode went too far.

I’d be willing to accept most of the wishy washy republican candidates in order to win the Senate. But we should make an example of the Cochran mess by doing a general boycott of the vote for that race only.

Are you for real? Is that you, Karl?

You’re damned right that reforms are possible. That’s what keeps your traitorous leaders up nights. They are scared to death that they may lose out to real Republicans in the long run. They will do anything to maintain control—just like their father, the devil.

The GOPe will NEVER advance conservatism and they would never put a charismatic conservative in any position of power. At least not unless they can get some leverage on him. Give me a break!

No, he is not right. My question to him would be the one I ask here repeatedly: What good does it do to give RINO’s that vote like Dems, act like Dems, propose stupid crap like Dems, want amnesty like Dems and talk like Dems the power in DC?

Exactly what are they going to “Stop” that Obama is doing now? Answer: NOTHING! Will they repeal Obamacare? No. Will they defund it? No. Will they seal the border and deport illegals? No. Will they stop the massive billions in wasted spending? No. Will they clean up the fraud at all of the government agencies like the IRS? No.

Anyone that tells me any different have blinders on or are Republican sycophants.

If you are willing to settle for garbage, don’t expect anything beyond garbage to come out of your wonderful, moderate Congress (R*).

*R for RINO. Go Team!

Why would they here in TN? They get what they want - squishy middle of the road RINO’s like Frist, Alexander, Corker, Sundquist The Tax Terrorist, Haslam, etc.

Even Fred Thompson got squishy in the end. My representative Marsha Blackburn is a non-entity. My previous state rep, Charles Sargeant (I’ve lived in the same place for 15 years and have been put in three different districts) was a wussy.
