(October 29, 2014) What did Sarah Palin mean by hinting at running for office?

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

Sarah Palin recently raised eyebrows by hinting on the Fox Business Network on Tuesday that she might be open to running for public office sometime in the future. Hitherto she has been content to be a gray eminence, using her considerable influence as the most powerful female politician on the planet to support other candidates. So why would she all of the sudden publicly flirt with the idea of getting into the arena in her own right?

Hot Air concludes, quite correctly that she will not likely run for president in 2016. Ted Cruz, Palin’s ideological soul mate, is almost certain to run in that year, and Palin will be solidly in his corner. Besides, Palin’s moment had been in 2012, when she could very well have been the conservative not-Romney candidate. For reasons best known only to her, Palin allowed that cup to pass from her lips.

One reason Palin let out the hint is that it gets people talking about her and her political future. She even hinted that part of her purpose was to tweak the legions of Palin haters who infest the Internet with invective about her. The mere possibility that Palin might become a governor (again) or a senator is enough to make heads explode, but also the politically savvy to include that prospect in their calculations.....

...Ted Cruz is no match for Sarah Palin !!!.
Unless you’ve been living on the Moon for the past several years you will know and understand that Sarah Palin scares the hell out of the Democratic Party and the Main Stream Media in this great nation , and remains the most dynamic woman to grace our republic. I worked for six presidents and there is nothing I would rather see than Sarah Palin as the President of the United States and Condoleezza Rice as Vice President....”Bring It” !!!

And yet, if the Cruz/Palin ticket did materialize, they would get my vote. Stick that in your equation and reevaluate.

The future of this country, if there is one, isn’t going to be driven by people in office. People in office either do nothing or make things worse.

It’s neighbors, regular people, standing up to the people “in office” that is going to determine if this country survives or if we all just become slaves.

I like Condoleezza Rice. VP would be great for her. Prez would be novel and would perk my interest up.

I wish she would run for something so we don’t have to endure the will she or won’t she threads for the next 2 years.

I could hardly blame Palin for refusing to run again for public office. The media would be eagerly sharpening their knives in gleeful anticipation. She has been savaged more than most by the MSM. Perhaps she thinks her message would be obscured by the manufactured drama. Her choice should be respected.

I think the line in the article that calls her “the most powerful female politician on the planet” is somewhat fantastical though. No objective observer could think that, surely?

Whether stepping down as Gov. of Alaska was right or wrong, it made her look weak. Not a good look for a presidential candidate.

It only looks weak to those who do not understand the why. This is a perfect learning situation to get people to see real power grabs by those in office, and a person who truly is a servant of the people. For real change in this country, we will need to do a lot of educating, and it will involve all of us.

Sadly, she cannot win the presidency! Her power remains in how she operates now. However, she should be offered a cabinet-level position, should that ever be possible. The Pubes are the problem.

Lexington, but whatever.

I'm glad that you agree there are better choices than Palin among the governors. Assuming Cruz is heading the ticket then Walker from Wisconsin, Pence from Indiana, Fallin from Oklahoma, or Kasich from Ohio would be excellent choices. Fallin would put a woman on the ticket as well. Martinez from New Mexico would be a good choice as well but I don't think we want a ticket with two Hispanics.

I have heard the reason that Palin stepped down. I have heard it over and over.
