It is set to be one of the toughest US presidential races and certainly its most expensive. With 687 days to go to election day, the 2016 campaign is already rich with storylines as candidates hone their messages and handshakes for the gruelling primary schedule ahead.
Will voters warm to another contest between Americas two modern political dynasties in Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush? Or will other, less well-known candidates capitalise on unrest in the US over its widening economic and social fault lines and growing disquiet over its role as the worlds policeman?
For Republicans, the field will be one of the most crowded in years, with establishment favourites such as Mr Bush and Chris Christie, the New Jersey governor, poised to battle candidates who have attracted huge followings among the partys grassroots activists such as Rand Paul and Ted Cruz.
With no clear frontrunner, it will also be one of the most open presidential races, matching up candidates with strong political track records but divergent stances on core Republican issues such as immigration, national security and gay marriage....

Chris Christie, right?
You read my mind. NOT!
LOL.
National Debt today: $18T
National Debt January 20, 2009: $11T
Obama’s cronies collected $7T of our money more than what FedGov brought in as taxes over the past six years. In terms of return on investment, it’s well worth $1B to buy the White House.
Actually to ransom it.
IMO, we need to get behind one conservative early on and back them to the hilt. I think you know who I’m talking about.

Yes. Maybe it’s time to see how much weight FR can swing around.
Are there federal rules as to what can be done by or discussed on a forum such as this one? Don’t want to get the feds on anyone’s tail (including mine! LOL!).
I didn’t mean FR in particular. I meant the overall TEA Party/Conservative grassroots, FR included. But if every registered member here donated just $10 to $100 to a certain candidate at this stage of the game, that’d go a long way towards making that person the perceived front-runner going into the early caucus and primary season, would it not?
Oh, I’m really concerned that Cruz doesn’t have enough experience for the presidency. Just look what we got with Obama. Only governors have the necessary experience to be president.
I really like Cruz but I wish he would wait until 2020 or 2024 before he runs for president. But in the meantime, he can do much more good for the cause in the Senate.
/blatant sarcasm
He was the longest serving Solicitor General in Texas history, a deputy US attorney, the man who made sure that Al Gore did not cheat his way into the White House, a spectacularly successful trial lawyer who has been before the US Supreme Court more than anyone in Congress and most Texas lawyers and he’s only 43 years old. What “executive experience” did Abraham Lincoln have before getting on that train?
At first I thought this was the cost of the latest 0bama vacation.
Christy. Bush. Romney.
No thank you. Thw wrong experience is worse.
Here’s the problem: Mitt Romney’s father, Gov.George Romney of Michigan (R), considered running for President in 1964. After extensive legal research he found that his birth in Mexico made him ineligible to be President. Mitt has all that paperwork, and will block Sen.Cruz’s attempts to become the Republican candidate.
Gov.Mitt Romney is a progressive and NOT conservative, and worse, he is an incompetent politician who never tried to draw his party together to support him. He can’t seem to realize that when you win a candidacy, you have to ask the folks in your party for their votes. His biggest mistake in 2012 was not asking Gov.Sarah Palin and evangelicals for their support. The social conservatives are the field workers and foot soldiers of the Republican Party. Since Romney treated them like dirt, they all stayed home.
Ole red eyes.
A couple of DRUNK HILLARY gifs for you...
A little too much holiday cheer as usual...
