Substitute Cruz for Reagan and this column could've been written around 1979.
The long knives are out.
Apparently there are many who don't.
This guy is called a “liberal’ on Google search. Do you know how far left somebody has to be to earn the term “liberal” among leftists?
The GOPe and Rinos said the same thing about Reagan.
CDS
"Delivering the goods" is not good for America.
Corrine Brown in Florida has billboards during her election - "Corrine delivers!"
“Most people, including most Republicans, find Ted Cruz grating, divisive and arrogant.”
Groupthink is strong with this one. Hmmmm?
“Cruz has found small groups of admirers while convincing the vast majority of people as a consummate asshole.”
What?
This author should learn how to write coherently.
Illiteracy abounds.
Don't these morons know that overdoing even a good concept eventually invites ridicule?
The only other possibility is the stupid existing GOP leadership trying to cull the pool of conservative candidates.
But as stupid as they may be, that is too far out to take seriously.

True.
I like the part where he says most people like Bammy, but Cruz is an asshole. LOL.
Cruz's biggest enemy is not the Dems in the blue states, it's the establishment GOP in the ostensibly red states. Liberal Pubbies will burn this country to the ground before they allow (what they perceive to be) another Reagan like conservative get the nomination and win the general. The people working the hardest now to derail Cruz are the GOPe. I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that they are hunting for and funneling dirt on Cruz to the Dems behind the scenes.
Cruz has drawn much venom from the lips of liberals from both the republican and democrat party! The establishment must be very very afraid of him?????
After reading that, I am going to tedcruz.org and make a donation.
We should start keeping track...taking names.
Since Ted Cruz has announced his intention to run for president it is exceedingly clear those who are on the side of wrong are terrified.
grating, divisive, arrogant...
Sounds like Obama

Could this guy be the former WH Floral Director?
There are two reasons I think Sen Cruz has a good chance at the nomination.
1. Last cycle, just about every candidate was “it” for a week. I don’t mean the media attention of announcemt week. I mean down the stretch, being sized up. I think Team Cruz is prepared for that moment, and I think they’ll run with it.
2. Texas primary is early. Sen Cruz is a favorite son in Texas. I don’t think at this point that Gov. Perry is going to run. I base that on watching him speak at CPAC. El Jefe, family connections notwithstanding, won’t get the Texas vote. My guess is that Texas will go 1. Cruz, 2. Paul (based on daddy’s Texas support, 3. El Jefe, 4. Walker. Things might change, but that’s how it looks today.
3. CPAC 2016 starts the day after the Texas Primary. Sure, CPAC picks the Pauls in off election years. In election years, the front runners get more attention. If Texas makes Cruz a frontrunner, he can extend that here.
4. I think Sen. Cruz’ entry will give him enough ‘pop’ that the GOPe can’t exclude him from the debates without looking like they’re rigging the game. Believe me: lots of thought has been put into how to keep Sen. Cruz out of the debates.
The 2016 primary schedule is favorable to Cruz. It’s silly to suggest that Cruz can’t win:
From Kevin Williamson at NRO:
“The great irony of the moment is that the people writing Cruz off this week are sneering at his lack of political sophistication and congratulating themselves on their own. Ask Senator David Dewhurst how well that worked out for him.”

I don’t think Reagan came off as an asshole to most voters in 1979. He came off as likable.
