BEAUMONT - Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, denies that he has any animosity toward gay Americans when it comes to states using its own system of regulations to define marriage.
While at a fundraiser at the MCM Elegante Hotel in Beaumont on Tuesday, Cruz held tight to his ideas that links same sex marriage to a fight over American's religions freedoms.
"Look, I'm a Christian," Cruz said. "Scripture commands us to love everybody. And what I have been talking about, with respect to same sex marriage, is the constitution, which is what we should all be focused on. The constitution gives marriage to elected state legislatures. It doesn't give the power of marriage to a president or to un-elected judges to tear down the decisions enacted by democratically elected state legislatures."
This year, Ted Cruz, and 11 other U.S. Senators, introduced the State Marriage Defense Act, which would allow states to use their own interpretations to define marriage, and would block the federal government from applying its own definition of marriage onto states.
"I support traditional marriage and we should reject attempts by the Obama administration to force same-sex marriage on all 50 states," Cruz told 12News about the State Marriage Defense Act. "The State Marriage Defense Act helps safeguard the ability of states to preserve traditional marriage for their citizens."
The Supreme Court is expected to make a ruling next month on the constitutionality of same-sex marriage.
Terrible headline, and Constitution should be capitalized.
I despise “journalists.”
Funny how they didnt quote him on that in the article...
Uh oh. Tomorrow's headline:
CRUZ REFUSES TO DENY HE WANTS TO THROW GAYS OFF BUILDINGS
” “Scripture commands us to love everybody.”
Ummm, I don’t want to “love” fags.
Love the sinner, hate the sin.
Thanks. They don’t even pretend to be impartial anymore.
NICE!!
Cruz should throw the question at her through the media. Paul kind of did it to the she creature Wasserman-Schulz
not with headlines like that one they cant.....
Romans 1:..
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Proverbs 6:16-19
haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
Next they’ll ask Ted if he still beats his wife.
He looks more like Curious George every day!
I think the creator of Curious George must have been presceint
“Curious George is the main protagonist of a series of popular children’s books by the same name, written by Hans Augusto Rey and Margret Rey. The books feature a curious brown monkey named George, who is brought from his home in Africa by “The Man with The Yellow Hat” to live with him in a big city.
When the first story, Cecily G. and the Nine Monkeys was published in France in 1939, George was named Fifi.[1] In the United Kingdom, George was originally called “Zozo” in 1941, apparently to avoid using the name of the then King George VI for a monkey.[1”
Zozo” ahaha I LIKE THAT Barack ZOZO Obama!!
No, but as president, he is going to round up all the atheists/agnostics and house them in concentration camps.
No lie. I’ve heard that from a number of liberals. They are all scared to death of a Ted Cruz presidency.
LOL!! Thanks for the background. It does fit so nicely.
They said that about Bush so much that it became a running joke on FR and elsewhere.
