Mitt Romney's Advice to the GOP: Focus on Minority Voters
NBC News Meet The Press ^ | June 14, 2015 | Ed Demaria

Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney listed some of his favorite contenders for the party's 2016 nomination Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press," but notably left off a few big names.

Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, and John Kasich were all name-checked by the former Massachusetts governor — but notably Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Chris Christie were not.

This past weekend Romney hosted a summit in Utah that attracted some potential Republican nominees. Friday night, Romney said while there are more than a handful in the Republican field, he has his eye on a select few.

"I think there are probably six or seven or eight who I would look at and say, 'That is someone where they and I agree on major issues and they could be an effective president of the United States,'" said Romney...

Focus on the 20%, ignore the 80%. A winning strategy!

Mitt is awkward about this -- as he so often is -- but it's possible to tease out a grain or two of validity in what he says. First, part of what he was saying was that he ignored or alienated lower income voters. That much is true, and it did hurt him.

Second, "focusing on minority voters" wouldn't have done Romney any good, given Obama's massive lead among African-Americans, but if there's enough doubt among Blacks and Latinos about Hillary that some stay home or even vote Republican it would help the GOP.

So without seriously believing Republicans should "focus" on minority voters before other groups, it would be wrong to write minority groups (or less affluent Whites) off.

I know Reagan did not listen to the GOPe as he was NOT their candidate. Ford was the GOPe favorite and only narrowly defeated Reagan. And what happened then? The GOPe candidate Ford lost to peanut farmer Carter.

The GOPe has a long history of losing.

Yeah. This is the guy who told the congressional GOP to “swallow hard” and pass Obama’s Amnesty in full. Somebody tell that idiot Coulter about that; she still is out there shilling for this proven loser.

Lots of conservative men marry liberal women because so many women are liberal. The men have no choice or else think it's cute. Just to be safe, leave those females home this time. Men need to take action!

Laura Bush and Condoleezza Rice were pro-gay marriage and Laura was pro-abortion.

When the grassroots were trying to cut funding for the arts (Christ in urine):

How do you feel about funding for the arts?

LAURA BUSH: Well,l I think funding, national
funding from—for the arts is important. I think that
it’s very important, particularly for smaller, rural
areas, that don’t have a big funding base of their
own. I think the NEA grants were announced
to—today or yesterday, I read them [ph] in Texas,
and a lotta that funding, of course, goes to the
symphony orchestras, and the art museums, and
different things that need funding. I think it’s—I
think it’s fine.

Had Obama on the ropes, then would not press for victory. Almost like he did not really believe in himself, nor did he really want to win. The country is suffering because of his inaction.

He played his part, just like McCain in 2008. They were there to ensure Zero never had a Conservative opponent who might actually win against the empty suit. Be grateful neither of those two won or the Democrats would have 2/3rds of Congress now after enacting those RINOs’ hard-left agenda.

Why don’t they run on everyone being an individual and that they should all have freedom and the liberty to live their lives as they please.

But most wives of conservative men are white, and white, married women as a whole do vote conservatively.

Riiiight.

Maybe the GOP can spend a few hundred million and reduce the black vote from 95% democrat to 94.8%.
