Trump may be setting up party for Cruz

While perusing the articles and stories one can find on the computer (my wife says I spend way too much time on this thing), and the posted comments related to the articles, I came across a comment concerning Donald Trump (imagine that) and his lack of qualifications to be the next president.

A poster had commented that Republicans can’t seem to get it right in their selection of candidates; notably, with Trump in the mix.

Deciding to have a little fun with this person, I pointed out that the Democrats hadn’t done such a hot job picking a candidate in the past two elections, either. I also pointed out that the president wasn’t all that qualified in the job department when considering his prior job experience.

After all, when all you have for a job recommendation for the highest office in the land is having been a community organizer, and junior senator in one of the most corrupt and bankrupt states in the country, that isn’t saying much.

I proceeded to explain to this person that Trump’s strategy is to continue building a large lead in the polls; then, call a news conference to announce he’s withdrawing from the race.

The only reason Trump entered in the first place, he explains, was to set the tone of the dialog. He recommends his followers get behind Sen. Ted Cruz.

Sen. Cruz breezes through the Republican primaries, defeats Hillary in the general election, and is now our new United States president. Wahoo.

Look, I like Ted Cruz. But let's be honest. He needs time. It was a big mistake to do that trade negotiating with Obama, and he got played. Maybe Trump can put that genie back in the bottle. Then there's his support of even MORE H1B Visas. What's that all about? Then there's the big money donors.

I agree Cruz should stay in for now. But I don't think he's got the full-spectrum appeal that Trump does.

There'd be no harm in Cruz helping clean up the sewer that the US Senate has become, and in four years run for President.

If the debate is terrific for Trump, wouldn't it make more sense to accept his generous offer and spend time, energy and money on primaries to oust everyone who supported Boehner or McConnell?

No my understanding of election history is fine. Cain, Bachmann and Perry did not have the money to compete. It was not that their message was bad. Perry was not physically ready for the campaign.

I was a Newt fan last cycle and Newt again did not have the money to counter Mitt’s smear campaign in Fla.

This cycle which you seem confused about has a self funded billionaire in the race who not only speaks out in a bold and unafraid way attacks his attackers and has the money to answer the negative ads with his own message. He also has the name recognition that others can only dream about.

You are somehow attempting to fit a round peg into a square hole and its just not working for you intellectually or emotionally.

I suggest you just get on the train and ride along to the Whitehouse with the rest of us. :-)

the point is, to use today’s polls as PROOF of who can do what is just absurd, anti history, anti logic and patently ridiculous. And that’s what you tried to do.

Historically polls are fairly accurate.

Historically polls are fairly accurate.

Maybe your husband can explain it to you....I didn't question the ACCURACY of the poll, I simply pointed out to you that polls at this time - accurate or not - are meaningless. They may be DAMNED accurate now....but NOW is not nearly as important as 3-4 months from now...and 5-6 months from now. Are you trying not to understand?

I can explain it to you, but I cannot understand it for you.

You need to try to understand this stuff for yourself. I’m exhausted from schooling you.

I can’t decide if you are really this ignorant about politics or you just want to bash Trump. I would say based on your latest article in American Thinker that you are just ignorant about it.

I want to believe you just want to bash Trump. If so then you realize that Donald Trump bears no resemblance to previous campaigns such as Bachmann, Cain and Huckabee.

I"m so far ahead of you on Trump that you can't even see my dust up ahead of you...and you're too stupid to know we're talking about the dynamic of polling not specific campaigns.....
