Of the 17 candidates there are 4 or 5 who fall into the best candidates possible category. The rest are politicians who would never utter an idea without focus testing it. They use words like “ reach across the aisle”, and never intend to change anything. They say something and then apologize for saying it.

The really big mistake the GOPe is making by mustering all of its forces, including a platoon of nothing-burger candidates and a gaggle of phoney-conservative PACs, is that nuking TRUMP is a scorched earth policy. They do not appear to understand that any establishment candidate they might squeak through the primaries will lose in a landslide because they terminally pissed of 40% of their base, but also that they will lose the down-ticket across the board, including Congress, the Governors, and the State houses, because the base will stay home.
Yes, I know the money-people behind the GOPe won’t care because they’ve simply bought ALL the politicians on both sides of the aisle anyway, so THEY can’t lose no matter what happens, but you’d think that GOPe party apparatus and their other candidates WOULD care about losing. Perhaps the GOPe REALLY is the stupid party, after all.

It's almost like watching a circular firing squad. The GOPe is trying to cause great turmoil for it's own candidates which begs the question do they truly want to win.
I am wondering after everything is said and done if the GOPe is going to destroy it's opportunity to win this election. They are certainly rabid in their thinking that they have to have a Establishment Candidate and no other.
My prediction is that if all of the candidates go after Trump solely then the public will perceive it as beating up on an underdog and it will backfire big time. It seems as if this debate is being billed as lets get Trump Night. This will expose the pettiness of the other candidates and no matter how Trump reacts the people will be on his side because it will viewed as David vs Goliath type of battle. Trump is a born and bred street fighter and none of these guys have no clue how to fight someone like that, Trump lives and fights by his own set of rules and it's like they are bring a knife to gun fight.
