If Cruz was not so focused on running for President, despite his clear ineligibility problem, I might have considered him as potentially one of the greatest Senators who have ever crossed the national stage.

Everyone I know who is a conservative friend or acquaintance wouldn't last five minutes in the sewage bowl of McConnell's senate. We'd all be done for, with no friends or colleagues to stand on.
