James Bennett column: Trump vs. Cruz
The Daily Herald ^ | November 29, 2015 | James Bennett

Donald Trump’s fall from atop the GOP presidential polls has started, turning Decision 2016 into a two-horse race with U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, in my opinion.

A national Reuters poll, released Friday, showed Trump’s support has tumbled 12 percentage points since making controversial, indefensible remarks about the Nov. 13 Paris terrorist attacks.....

Trump will head the Democrat ticket for 2016.

He is impatiently awaiting Hitlery’s physical breakdown, and speaks of it often.

As if there were a distinguishable difference between DC Republicans and Democrats.

Try to keep up.

Statistics is not based in absolutes.

The size of the sample is usually irrelevent, and the key is for the sample to reliably represent the body.

Actually, a large sample allows more careful crafting of the outcome, and makes the mischief harder to detect. Best choice for a push poll in every way.

This could be a drinking game, take a shot when somebody writes that Trump is toast. Except that it's already lasted several months and won't end till February at the soonest. Bad news for everybody's liver, and even worse for the pundit press and their imaginary credibility. If anyone else running spoke as bluntly, reacted to every real or imagined slight like he does, or in general played bull in the GOP china shop they would be toast. But that solid core of 25-30% support in the polls isn't going anywhere before the snow flies and the ballots get counted in New Hampshire.

Obviously except for Cruz, there is no difference.

Ergo: Cruz or Lose!

Here is an article about Cruz that I found very interesting - it goes into his history at school and in public and private practice.

The conclusion is that for him the bottom line might be that for those who know him he just isn’t likable.

“This must be the fourth or fifth variation of this I have read. Is the same guy writing them all or did a memo go out - push Cruz to take down Trump?”

Most likely. If not now, then later.

Reuters poll is so flawed that I wish people would stop citing it at all.

The media and GOPe are salivating over the prospect of a Cruz v Trump battle because they think it will let Rubio or Bush slide past unscathed.

Trump and Cruz supporters would be wise to ignore these baiting articles. We know what the difference is between the two candidates and we certainly don’t need the media telling us which we should vote for.

That was an incredible article. I sure would like to see people read it, especially the second page.

Interesting the common theme about him since college. Arrogant, changing the debate, scheming, unlikeable. It also puts a new twist on George Bush’s statement that he just didn’t care for him.

Uh, Trump is not likable.

Wow that's interesting...You've not seen his massive historic Trump crowds who genuinely to have a heartfelt relationship with the messenger and his message?

Or are you referring to the criminal and corrupt in DC and the MSM?
