Kasich Hits Back at Cruz Over Call to Police Muslims
Mother Jones ^ | March 22, 2016 | Inae Oh

Posted on 03/22/2016 2:50:23 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Ohio Gov. John Kasich rebuked Sen. Ted Cruz's call to "patrol and secure" Muslim neighborhoods in the wake of the deadly explosions in Brussels on Tuesday.

"We are not at war with Islam--we're at war with radical Islam," Kasich told reporters in Minneapolis, according to the New York Times. "In our country we don't want to create divisions where we say, 'OK, well your religion, you're a Muslim, so therefore we're going to keep an eye on you."

He added, "The last thing we need is more polarization."

ISIS has since claimed responsibility for the attacks, which have killed at least 30 people.

Kasich's remarks stand out against those of his other Republican primary opponent, Donald Trump. In response to the attacks on Tuesday, Trump announced his support for employing torture tactics against terror suspects for intelligence-gathering purposes, despite considerable evidence that such methods fail to produce useful information.

"If they could expand the law, I would do a lot more than waterboarding," Trump said on the Today Show. "You have to get the information from these people."

Terrorism expert Malcolm Nance slammed Trump for the comments, describing them as fodder for terrorist recruitment efforts.

Maybe during the Article V Convention, we can make OHIO a territory and turn in to a Muslim Detention Center with John Kasich Proudly in charge

And Mr. Kasich has a magic pair of glasses that enable the wearer to tell the difference between so-called "peaceful Muslims" and Radical Muslims"? Seriously - this guy us an even bigger nut job than given credit for.

So when you have a murder you ask for a search warrant for a house in the opposite side of town.

Kasich the more you speak the more of a RINO you sound. Yep, saying anything people want to hear just to get elected but when it means kicking ass and taking names you are nowhere to be found.

We can learn a lot from Mother Nature.

There are many analogies, which can to some extent be formalized, between biological systems, social systems, and political systems.

Two animals can fight for dominance—over territory, each other, resources. Just like two countries. Maybe it fits in with the concept of “fair fight”, maybe not.

Or, an animal can be attacked asymmetrically, by virii, or bacteria, or even many little animals, like ants (or the mini-dinosaurs in Jurassic Park II). Similar things can happen with countries.

In the biologic arena, especially with micro-attackers, the correct strategy is twofold: isolation (through cleanliness) and disinfecting attack against the invading microbes—either natively through antibiotics. There is also a third possibility, eradication (DDT for malaria-bearing mosquitos).

In the political arena, the equivalent remedies are isolation (border security, restrictive immigration policy), and disinfection: Bug/destroy the mosques, break up the networks, go after the jihad culture (ban the Koran?). Also, there’s population relocation, distasteful as it may be, but still fitting the biological analogy. Finally, of course, there’s eradication, but with a billion or more of them out there, I’d think that’s not an analogy which works in the political arena.

Our southern border policy under Obama is liking treating an open wound only with antibiotics, rather than cleaning and bandaging it. Our visa/immigration policy, including our lottery, is like inviting infection. Trump is really the only person who seems to get it. Cruz maybe. No one else.

Am I insane here, or am I making sense?

has This fellow ever advocated anything that Bernie and Hillary would disagree with?

he seems a mere echo of Bernie and Hillary (and Jeb) every time he opens his month

Hillary’s a loser. Bernie appears too honest, won’t take bribes like Hillary....so the D party bosses don’t want either of them. Maybe Kasich should volunteer to be the D nominee?

Until they prove they are both capable and interested in policing themselves and get rid of radicals, then we absolutely must police them.

Not to do so is literal suicide for us.

A culture reflects the moral boundaries of it people and this in turn defines the laws of those people, written or unwritten, stated for all to abide by without exception. There cannot exist in a culture those that follow the laws of other contrary cultures. Legal immigration implies assimilation and those that want to immigrate agree to become part of that culture. A culture cannot survive a diversity within itself, and it never has. Ever.
The obvious truth of the ages has become obscure behind the smoke conjured from the ever seething cauldron of anarchy stirred by purveyors of upheaval. shrouded by political correctness, diversity is being used to spearhead an insidious assault by claiming a moral high ground through media indoctrination. Diversity has many places, laws are not one of them, neither is culture. The forest, yes, of course. A diversity of cultures, of course. But what of the culture that strives to encompass all others?

I agree with you on most points. I would like to supply a different analogy for immigration and absorption from the physical sciences.

Immigration at a certain level, with assimilation of most of the immigrants, is a good thing—it supplies what in the agricultural world might be called hybrid rigor, and definitely adds to our cuisine. The question is how to think of the level above which assimilation becomes less thorough, or indeed impossible.

In materials, you can melt dissimilar metals and mix them together in a pot. Depending on the first metal, and the metals that are introduced, you may form an alloy. Think of tin and lead mixed together as solder. Before our current lead worries, this mixture was used by plumbers and electrical manufacturers was 60/40, close enough to the 63/37 ratio that produces the lowest melting point.

Other metal combinations can’t mix as well. Put in too much, and instead of an alloy, you’ll get lumps of the additive in a matrix of the main metal.

The same thing happens with liquids. You can only dissolve so much salt in water before additional amounts sit on the bottom.

So it is with immigration. There is a maximum rate of absorption for incoming immigrants without disruption. Further, experience shows the annual number of immigrants that can be imported without major problems varies with where they come from. Liberals are willfully blind to this, alas.

We are not at war with Islam—we’re at war with radical Islam

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Islam is at war with us. Whether we choose to acknowledge it or not.

Islam has been at war with everyone else since 622 A.D.

It will always be so until there is only Islam or no Islam.
It’s all in their book. Allah commands them to subjugate, convert or kill us.

Mad Mo made it so.
