To: Sybeck1

Someone here posted that under Ohio law if Kasich drops out his delegates would automatically fall to the 2nd place finisher - Donald Trump. That may explain at least in part why Kasich is still in the race.
If it true I wish Kasich would drop out

Trump will begin to pound this into the ground at his ralleys ... Cruz has been mathematically eliminated. Cruz called on Kasich to drop out when he was mathematically eliminated. Trump will tell Cruz to take his own advice. As Cruz continues to take advantage of a corrupt delegate system ... he will be viewed (correctly) as the ultimate political insider.
The Cruz-mentum was manufactured to sell a narrative.
His support will tank now ... Trump will easily get to 1237 ... California puts him way over the top.

Also keep in mind that up until a few weeks ago Cruz said Trump should get out of the race if the doesn’t get a majority in the NY primary. Trump got an impressive majority in NY. Cruz DIDN’T get a majority in TX.

Cruz got 44% in his home state.
Trump got 60%.

Cruz will reconcile the apparent hypocrisy by implying that "majority" is a reference to delegates, not to voters.

No reason to drop out until Trump gets to 1237, which he won’t do

To stay in the race when you have no chance to reach the majority for the sake of stopping someone who can, goes against the spirit of the primary system.
It smacks of a scorched earth policy.

Cruz cannot realistically get that number.
There is only one who can-Trump.
Candidates don't stay in just to block the front runner and force a convention fight, which weakens the Party.
