No, really. This is one of the best political commercials ever made.
It wont be on TV unless it gets recut, because its two and a half minutes long, but to recut this would be a shame. It packs in many of the reasons why Cruz is a better nominee than Trump, gets across the key point that if Trump is the nominee the media which has been fawning over him will turn on him the same way they turned on John McCain and Hillarys opposition research feeding into the media coverage will turn the entire general election race into an implosion, and points out that Cruz can make the case for himself as the embodiment of what the American people say theyre looking for in a president.
But even if you dont buy the substance of the ad, you have to appreciate the showbiz of it. Its one of the best-produced pieces youll see in a campaign spot. This woman theyve got playing Hillary Clinton is perfect. Looks just like her and does a great impersonation without saying a thing. The actress playing Huma Abedin also looks just like her, and does just enough to scare the crap out of anybody not already scared by the prospect of Huma Abedin being Valerie Jarrett Version 2.0. Theres even a John Podesta lookalike.
You couldnt knock this down to a :60 spot, I dont think, but if you could it ought to run over and over and over and over again in every remaining state. Clearly the campaign hopes releasing it will cause the cable news networks to run it in their news packages and give it earned media exposure, plus have it go viral on social media and the blogosphere. For a spot this good that could well work. Its worth watching as entertainment, not just a political ad.
Consider this love. Consider this our puppy-faced adoration for the Cruz campaign a la Sean Hannitys nauseating sycophantic treatment of Trump. Consider it whatever you want; were fine with it. An ad this good speaks for itself.

When you get some judges to decide that he doesn’t meet the constitutional requirements, let’s talk. Until then, you and the others here are shoveling dirt. My wife was born in Brazil to U.S. parents — and she has always been a U.S. citizen. Why is that then?
Why is that people like you care nothing about little Donald Trump’s talks with Bill Clinton before he ran for president? What did they talk about? What deals did they make? MAYBE YOU’LL FIND THERE’S A PROBLEM LATER. Do some thinking now.
I am the only one thinking this morning.
I would love for you to pony up legit official documents that form a paper trail of Ted Cruz’s past history.
Only then can we discuss and judge if Ted is even a US Citizen.
Till then, you and the rest of the blind, deaf and situationally dumb Cruzbots are merely shovelling dirt
... and if said "allegations" should ultimately prove true (as they almost always do, where politicians of both parties are concerned), you'll instantly drop Ted the Immaculate like the proverbial hot potato, thunderously denouncing him as "a moral leper"... right?
Bonus points if you can answer without going all in caps, like a teen girl squealing on a Glee fan site.
You would like to think that you’re the only one thinking this morning — but like your mentor, the mouthy, bombastic Trump, you attack people.
HERE’S YOUR LITTLE PHRASE: “Till then, you and the rest of the blind, deaf and situationally dumb Cruzbots are merely shovelling dirt.” Typical Trump supporter. Nasty little attacks from a person who apparently can’t think.
I noticed that you didn’t say WORD ONE about Trump’s little chat with BJ Clinton, one of the more evil people on earth. Isn’t it great? Before Trump announces, he checks in with Bill Clinton — to whom he gave $100,000. And the Clintons attend one of Trump’s many weddings and even belong to one of his golf courses. Great deal. PLEASE DON’T CONSIDER YOURSELF A THINKING PERSON. These are facts, like them or not.
What if your attacks and allegations about Cruz prove to be wrong? After all, they were put out by Trump weasel Roger Stone.
I would be extremely disappointed if the Cruz allegations proved true, but given the source, I think they’re false.
The difference is that you know that Trump is a moral leper and you love him and trust him and follow him.
Futhermore, there is a important distinction between Citizen and natural born Citizen.
If the difference is of no concern to you, thats okay.
No need for you to mock, ridicule and Ailinsky those who understand that natural born Citizens stand a better chance of siding with American Citizens when the crap hits the fan and decisions must be made.
Your wife was born if Brazil, right. IF the generals told your wife she had to carpet bomb her birth place and childhood Brazil home, could she pull trigger?? How can you convince me someone not a natural born Citizen has zero remaining alligence or attachments to Brazil????
The Constitution extends unique powers to POTUS, hence the need for sole and unwavering alliegence to only the United States of America
You are off point, maybe because you cannot defend your position.
We cannot judge Ted Cruz cause his past is sealed. Discovery is not possible without evidence. The only evidence we have is a Canada birth Certificate. Ted is the only one who can clear his previously good name.
At this point, no Judge can condem or clear Ted’s name
Unresponsive to the question asked. ("... and if said 'allegations' should ultimately prove true (as they almost always do, where politicians of both parties are concerned), you'll instantly drop Ted the Immaculate like the proverbial hot potato, thunderously denouncing him as 'a moral leper'... right?)
It's okay. I didn't expect a straightforward, honest answer, anyway.
Back to your spluttering, then. We're done, here.
There’s a certain irony in your statement to me — No need for you to mock, ridicule and Ailinsky those who understand that natural born Citizens stand a better chance of siding with American Citizens when the crap hits the fan and decisions must be made.
You may not realize it, but you other Trump supporters do more mocking, ridiculing and Alinsky tactics than almost anyone. Look at what you wrote below. Rather nasty little attacks, right?
HERES YOUR LITTLE PHRASE: Till then, you and the rest of the blind, deaf and situationally dumb Cruzbots are merely shovelling dirt. Typical Trump supporter. Nasty little attacks from a person who apparently cant think.
I notice that you say nothing about the Trump-Clinton conversations. Every Trump supporter on this website has ignored this little disgusting aspect of Trump’s candidacy.
Oh yes, we are done here, because you support a moral leper and ask me to drop support for a candidate on maybes and might bes. Yes, we’re done.
And I notice that you, like all other Trump supporters have no explanation for little Donald’s chat with his fellow moral leper BJ Clinton before running for president. No questions, no thoughts, no concern, no thinking. Great.
Why are you still here? Didn’t you get the memo?
Trump will NOT have 1237 Delegates.
Cruz wins on the second ballot.
Why would cRuz’s ‘friends’ produce an ad that actually promotes Trump?
You can’t make this stuff up.
Meanwhile....Ted continues his very public meltdown....and slide down the polls.
Keep releasing these ads, cRuz!
Gotta keep the checks coming.
yep
including his own party
OK, O’ pesky critter, what is Trump’s party?
The GOP, which he just claimed to have joined in the Summer of 2015? Or the dems who he has voted with and contributed to for 49 years?
Hahahahahahahaa..
Wow... just wow... someone thinks that’s the best thing folks will ever see?
That’s like saying “Pastor Greg” was the greatest TV show of all time. Only the kool aid drinkers think this is the greatest thing ever....
In fact, he can’t and hasn’t stopped Trump, so thinking he can stop Trump and Hillary is laughable.
Or, the most obvious answer to the “dramatic” question at the end of this badly acted and poorly scripted little drama? “How do we stop Ted Cruz?” Simple answer they don’t have to, because he’s not going to be the nominee.
Seriously this looks like something some high school students wrote, directed and produced for a school project.
Yes, yes of course.... the guy who hasn’t won a state east of the Mississippi, is a likely to end the primary season a full 1/3 of the delegates shy of the majority, is finishing 3rd place during the home stretch, lost the south in its entirety with the exception of his home state of Texas and pretty much been rejected by the overwhelming majority of the electorate... When delegates start to get unbound, none of his will defect, and everyone else’s are just all going to race over to this guy to hand the party nomination to someone the voters have soundly and repeatedly rejected.
You have to be smoking some really good stuff to believe that line...
Of course I am sure you believed the line “Trump can’t win a closed Primary” either.. yet he not only just won one, but Cruz came in third in it... and guess what? PA’s a closed primary state as well, and Trump is going to win that closed primary and Cruz is looking like he’ll come in third there too.
SO how many more irrational, insane, denials of fundamentals will Cruz supporters continue to cling to in desperation that their guy will somehow wind up the nominee?
It ain’t happening folks. Next Tuesday Trump will sweep every single state, again, Cruz will take 3rd as often as 2nd in those primaries... Cruz has 3 states left he will likely win... SD, MT and NE... I know his campaign is trying to sell you a bill of sale that he’ll get IN too, but I wouldn’t bet the paycheck on that.
This idea that Trump can’t get 1237 is not based on reality, but the delusion that should he wind up just shy that Cruz somehow winds up the nominee is flat out laughable. I know that’s the line Cruz has to feed you to keep you on the reservation since he’s not going to get there, but its not based in reality.
There is only 1 good day left for Mr Cruz between now and the end of the primaries. May 10th will be the only day between now and the end where he may just gain on Trump a handful or two of delegates.... but that’s it. Every other election will see Trump continue to pull away, and he will easily gain more than 58% of the delegates between now and the end of the voting to secure the nomination on the first ballot.
My, my, my.
Are vicious attacks on Trump supposed to somehow negate his significant accomplishments and convince Trump supporters that Cruz has even a single qualification that a candidate for president needs?
Cruz has never managed a staff, never run a business, never formulated a budget, never worked a real job. But his lack of experience or skills doesn’t mean anything—because, you know, his supporters can be really mean and say nasty stuff about the one man who actually *does* have the skills necessary to be an effective president.
I’m sorry your selected candidate turned out to be a dud. Really, I am.
