Gingrich praises Clinton's 'spectacular speech'

Hillary Clinton’s speech Tuesday reveling in her historic title as the first woman to clinch a major political party’s presidential nomination drew praise from an unlikely source Wednesday: a Republican who has endorsed Donald Trump.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich described the reality star’s toned down, teleprompter speech Tuesday as “very fine” but cast Clinton’s remarks as a “spectacular speech” that was “very effective.”

“Let me first say that I thought Hillary Clinton’s speech last night was very effective,” Gingrich said Wednesday via Facebook live. “No conservative, no Republican should assume that she’s gonna be a pushover.”

After apologizing for his hair — it’s not quite right, he said, but will be cut Thursday — Gingrich suggested that Clinton will be a formidable challenger to Trump....

The woman deserves no accolades. Poor Newt. He really is a salamander.

I listened to her speech, and found it to be pretty much the standard speech she always makes, except this time it played up the woman angle right up front. I hear that her new slogan is #genitaliamatters.

Newt can sit on a couch with her and talk about global warming or something.

Newt's on a roll.

I'd say, maybe, dementia but he does have a history of self imploding.

I watched it, and it is true, she was much less screechy than usual, but I would not go so far as to say it was "spectacular". The expectations on her are very low. It was adequate, full of sound bites and phony lines. I watched hoping she'd cough or slip or sag. She looked better than usual. Her drugs must be working.

Newt has given up what small chance he had to be VP. Trump will find something else for him; he hinted as much today.

I hope that Trump wasn’t considering/is not considering Newt for VP.

Newt is shape shifting before our very eyes. Soon, he will look and sound just like Lindsey Graham. I tend to think that Newt got inside information that he will not be picked as Trumps’ V.P. candidate, so now he wants to rhetorically firebomb the whole damn event.

I for one don’t hate Hillary Clinton. I don’t enjoy listening to her that’s for sure. I’m sure if i got into the weeds I would probably end up not liking her at all (Which is why I don’t want to get into the weeds). If she wins I don’t want to spend four years hating on someone. The country has already been changed for the worse an will probably never be like it once was. I hold out a feint hope that Trump can change the culture of PC and whoa is me. The constantly offended nature of the country is sickening. Trump’s direct approach is quite refreshing and I very much hope he wins with that approach. I’m not as against Hillary as I am for Trump and I hope the vast majority of his voters feel the same way. Hillary can deliver a good speech (I imagine, personally her voice annoys me) that is not the be all and end all. Her Presidency will just continue the downward spiral of a once great nation. To be fair, there are very few people who would have stopped that trajectory. I believe Trump is one who can at least slow the demise but I understand that the country is in a place in its history where they can’t accept someone who is open about how he feels and doesn’t couch his words in political correctness. I hope if he fails it’s not because he went Prompter Trump but because the country really can’t accept Real Trump

Newt crossed species boundaries, became King of the Weasels. And that didn't happen recently.

Imho, the bottom line is that this really doesn't affect them. They're going to be wealthy and have power regardless.
