WOODBURY - A News 12 Long Island/Hofstra University poll shows that Long Islanders are divided about who they want to win the presidency.

A total of 40 percent said they want Hillary Clinton to be the next president, while 40 percent said they supported Donald Trump.

Six percent said they want another candidate, and six percent aren't voting at all. Eight percent of those polled said they were undecided.

Political analyst Michael Dawidziak said the result are not surprising.

"That's consistent. That's what the polls have been on Long Island almost from the time when these two candidates were chosen," said Dawidziak.

The poll also showed that 60 percent of Long Islanders are dissatisfied with the candidates.

Long Island/Hofstra University

If they hadn't included the school, most kids from out of state and probably all graduates of socialist public high schools ... the number would be predominantly Trump.

That does not surprise me. I bet Trump does very well in other areas like Rochester, White Plains, Ogdensburg-Watertown, Central Leatherstocking, basically anywhere outside of Manhattan.

If he doesn’t does as badly as most Republicans do in Manhattan, he might actually win New York.

“...Central Leatherstocking...”

Definitely almost all will vote Trump in Otsego and Scoharie County.

It still shocks me that after all the crimes hilLIARy has done people still “support” her. There are man unpatriotic, Freedom-hating traitors living among us.

But, but, but I just heard Brit Hume and Karl Rove say Hillary is up by 4 today, across the country. How can the vote on LI be evenly split?? /s.

After hearing Hume and Rove pushing Hillary’s popularity, I went to Rasmussen to find out that Trump is actually up by a few points. Go figure. FoxNews is fast becoming irrelevant......just another MSM channel now.

No, a Long Island poll is absolutely worthless as it tells you nothing about who will win New York State.

So a poll of Polk County tells you nothing about Iowa and a poll of Miami-Dade County reveals nothing about Florida?

No, a Long Island poll is absolutely worthless as it tells you nothing about who will win New York State.

Obama destroyed Romney in Long Island, and accounted for 1,680,000 votes for Obama vs. 884,000 for Romney for around 66% vs 34%. Of the 2.2m votes seperating the two in NY as a whole, LI accounted for about 800k, or over a third of that vote differential.

It is absolutely preposterous to think that "a Long Island poll is absolutely worthless as it tells you nothing about who will win New York State."

I really question those reports.

There was an article here yesterday or the day before that said Trump's overage in Nevada was more than all of hillary's main venues ... combined.

Figured it out. Nassau and Suffolk constitute Long Island. Obama won Nassau 53 to 46 and Suffolk 50 to 48. Correct me if anything wrong.
