Hillary seeks to 'decapitate' Trump campaign in historic bid to take Texas for the Democrats

Hillary Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, has launched a historic bid to win the deeply Republican state of Texas in a bid to destroy Donald Trump's chances of becoming president.

Mrs Clinton committed $1.5 million to begin running television advertisements in the Lone Star state, which is usually ignored by Democratic presidential nominees who have not won it for 40 years.

Texas has 38 votes in the presidential electoral college, the second biggest number of any state after California. A candidate needs 270 to win.

Targeting Texas amounted to a political "decapitation strategy" by taking the biggest Republican state....

The fact he hasn’t worries m because NY is in play.

New York is as much in play for Trump as Texas is for Clinton.

Yeah good luck with that Hillary. You may get Austin and Houston where some of your gay weirdo mayor friends live bu the rest - we know all about your history, deeds, betrayals, etc... So not a chance. Money can’t fix everything; especially with people who actually have a conscience and principles.

All this talk of "decapitation" triggered me.

Like Sarah Palin and her Crosshairs!

My guess is that DNC is worried about FL and rust belt states like PA OH MI so they are trying to pick off TX, based on high Hispanic population.

Pennsylvania and Michigan aren't in play. The Democrats will sink money into Florida, Ohio, and Texas because they have money to burn.

That’s hilarious! Ask Abortion Barbie about Texas going red. Greg Abbott curb-stomped her by > 20%.

This is a good observation.Start with the hack article.Maybe follow it up with a fake poll and with the political ads.Create a storyline.

That is less than a mayoral candidate would spend in any one of the half dozen larges cities in the state. She is just trying to prop up a couple of down ticket Democrats who will get wiped out in a statewide wave if no Hillary voters show up.

I thought Arizona was a fake out. That’s what they’re doing I should think

Hillary is unpredictable with money. We don’t know where she gets it from She’s got so much illegal cash coming in that her tax returns are a ruse

Btw. John Kerry when he was running was paying like 6% in taxes

Hillary has so much money she couldn’t possibly be budgeting. Ever. So the rules don’t apply to her. If she’s spending in Texas it has nothing to do with budget and tactics it’s a bout a psych out and maybe a rigged election. Bushes are in Texas and we know they don’t want her to lose. It will mean the end of their dynasty

If it legitimately happens, you can stick a fork in your country, there is no way back.

You know, right up the point the Russians took Berlin, the Nazis were broadcasting to the German people that German victory was imminent. Some how, millions believed this.

I don’t think things are too dissimilar here.

1.5 M in a state as geographically large as TX? Maybe I’m wrong but don’t see that as a major buy

Trump’s national campaign is headquartered in New York City.

I HATE those traitors. Sickens me to think I voted for them.

And you’re right. She likely has 100s of millions at her disposal and can squander a measly 1.5m.

It’s time for all true Texans (and Arizonans) to say one big PHOOEY! to the Hillary Witch, and make her lose both states even bigger than the usual Democrat!!!!

And yes—Trump should make at least some effort to take New York! He is a real New Yorker, while Hillary is not. In fact, she has no home state—she is the woman from Nowhere!!!!

And if we elect her President, we all will be from Nowhere, too!!!!

If Trump is worth 9 bil she’s competitive with that. And she didn’t earn it so she, by the nature of it, doesn’t know how to spend wisely. No idea

“If Texas goes blue, I’d just find a way to leave the country. It might take several years, but I would do it, and not just talk about it like C-list celebrities.”

Same. Not sure how to do it at that point, as we would be third world. We are second world right now. I think it is the long term trend.

Exile sucks.

No. no. I’m sorry. O’Reilly and Bernie say last night NY is going to Hillary. ‘So he’s not going to win even his home state’.........I’m thinking Hillary figures the voting machines are locked up for her in Texas, so she better make it LOOK likes it’s in play.

Your concern is legitimate in the long run. Texas draws too many outsiders who bring the failures of the place they left in their wake, whether it is Mexico, California or New York.
