Authorities Need Your Help

Authorities are looking for a gray or blue-over-gray Chevy Astro van similiar to the one pictured below. It could be a 2000-2002 van. Two white male occupants were seen throwing burning objects from the van along Waterman Canyon Drive.

If you remember seeing anything, regardless of how insignificant, call (909) 384-5615. If you see a suspect van call 9-1-1 immediately.

We have stayed in a cute rental cabin in Big Bear. We have very fond memories from our stay. I am heavy hearted.

I am glad there were people close enough as witnesses to get a drawing. MAY HE BURN FOR ETERNITY (and do heavy time with the worst of the worst while here on earth) for what he has done.

"there were spot fires reported 6 miles south of Moonridge tonight"

Wow, I've got a friend who has a weekend home and a couple rental cabins in Moonridge. I'll call her tomorrow. Thanks for the update.

I'm headed to bed, thanks to all of you monitoring the scanners, climbing on the roof, etc. :), for giving us the firsthand reports and info. You all are doing a great job.

Let's hope this fire spurs some common sense into those that block forst management.

Despite the fact that these fires have raged through "National Forests" most of what has been burning is brush. When the day comes that someone offers to pay money to clear brush away Cailfornia's wildfire problems will be mostly solved. Until then, fire breaks and occasional small brush fires seem to be the best solutions.
