Set at the base of the Estrella Mountains, near the Salt and Gila Rivers, PIR is as much a fixture of the local landscape as its natural counterparts.

Johnson has been flat-out good at one-mile tracks
Speaking only for myself, I don't care that much about the point race, anyway. The only time I'm interested is if it's extremely close and the two frontrunners are bumping and grinding. That adds a little bit of drama.

Mega Dittos BUMP to that...
Hendricks cars 2-3-4...Roush cars are ?-?-?...
John was his usual self in skirting the big question, but said that he was very happy there and felt he had found a home. He said being at DEI felt like "graduating from grade school and going to high school". Though he didn't come right out and say he would or wouldn't be the driver of the #1 car, he did imply that if a sponsor is found, he'll be in the seat. Watching him on the show, it appeared to me that Mikey was giving him the opening to clear a lot of things up.
If you read the transcript of last week's show with Dave Wilson (click 'John on the Radio'), you'll see that Dave also asked this leading question. Read between the lines, folks.......These interviewers, friends of John I might add, aren't going to put him in a spot by asking questions that haven't already been privately answered. These two incidents, plus other comments heard over the weekend in the media pretty much lead to one conclusion......that if a sponsor is found for the car, John will be in it for the 2004 season.
I don't know what the proper formula is, but things would certainly look different if each winner received a 50 point bonus, as an example.
