"DEBKAfile ?s military sources report unusually heavy US bomber and fighter air traffic on the move from US West Coast to Middle East via Scotland"

I know, I know, it's DEBKA, but, does anyone think it has anything to do with the recent threats against New York, LA, and DC?

or.............perhaps a run up for Syria???

Nothing unusual at Rhein-Main Airb^H^H^H

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep

Once again support for my theory that the farther you get from Israel, the less accurate Debka tends to be. I put a lot of stock in their reports of Palestinian terrorism and Israeli counter-terror; much less stock whenever their reports stray over to the U.S.

I am sorry to burst the bubble but I believe there is an exercise going on right now somewhere in Europe.

The West Wind blows like Monica. I believe DEBKA's already got that covered.

Last weekend the family and I were down at the Citadel in Charleston SC. The football stadium is under the traffic pattern for Charleston AFB, with a C-17 squad. in residence.

During the game I noticed a KC-135 inbound on the approach, with two F-18’s in trail‘bout 400ft astern. I thought it odd but thought they might be returning from a fly-by some
where, But no fighters or tankers are based there

A little while later a C-5 came in on the same approach, he also was escorted by two F-18’s also about 400 ft astern

My question is ...
1. Are KC-135’ and C-5’s considered Strategic National Assets?
2. Are we flying escorts on SNA’s
Anybody got a guess?

Where the bases are located is public knowledge. Air Force Magazine publishes an almanac every year. How many bombers are located at each base at any given moment is of more importance and is more closely guarded.

U-2's (actually designated the TR-1A now) aren't bombers but you are correct that their base is in California.

Thanks. I know what a U2 is, it was supposed to be a joke. I guess a bad one at that.

That's interesting, I didn't know the U-2's were designated as TR-1A's. Kind of lends a little more credence to the rumored top secret TR-3B.

What precedence do we have of an unannounced bombing campaign? Iran had a 10/31 deadline to the IAEA and they met the deadline but the IAEA it was just reported will say that Iran failed to meet nuclear safeguard agreements at a meeting later this month. Bremer recently said "They are coming in mostly through Syria, and there are people coming, at least they travel on passports (from) Yemen, Sudan, Saudi Arabia and some from Syria" regarding terrorists in Iraq.

Sorry. I didn't appreciate the sarcasm. Then again those big fuel tanks might look like big bombs to a Debka source.

I don't know what it is but the F-16's, F/A 18's and the C-130's are burning up the jet fuel near Fort Worth...something's up.
