LOL! I love that face he's making here. It looks so 'devilish'. Bet his mom recognizes it as such. Bet she saw it on him many, many times when he was being naughty.

The President looks so vigorous and strong, but I cannot believe how elegant and positively radiant Mrs. Bush looks. She looks fabulous. What a relief to have a real First Lady instead of a phony co-president!

You would think that "Queen" Hillary could have taken off the pant suit for her visit to England!

(My advise? Always keep a can opener in the emergency shelter.)

Regarding the dignity, As best as I can tell, in many photos including the Queen and the First Lady, Mrs Bush seems to have lost her pocketbook.Actually, she is missing the purse, the gloves and the hat! We can make some allowances for cultural differences, can't we? After all the suit is beautifully tailored and it is not a polyester/wool blend pant suit!

one thing the good institutions of the world have in common: they are under merciless attack by a slanderous enemy who plays by no rules.
ever notice how much the media have in common with terrorists?

I read somewhere Mrs. Blair sprained her ankle recently. The article said she fell off a stool trying to reach a hatbox on a closet shelf.

Good thing when The Groper & Hil'ry visited Buckingham Palace they didn't bring along any of the gang from Arkansas --->
Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Clinton Presidential Center. Senator David Pryor Award recipient Willie Oats attends the groundbreaking ceremony. Presented annually, the award honors older Arkansans who continue to make outstanding contributions in their individual communities. Aside from the Senator David Pryor Award, Willie Oats is perhaps best known in Central Arkansas for her spectacular hats. December 5th, 2001

George Bush and Tony Blair arrive at the Foreign Office for a joint press conference.

OK, I want to know what we gave as a hostess gift. What on earth do you give a queen?

Mrs. Bush is wearing gloves in the one setting that the queen is not wearing gloves or a hat (QEII in bright green dress).
I noticed the missing handbag immediately too.

Thanks for the info about Cherie Blair. Must be the nurse in me--saw the cane, was concerned about degenerative conditions. Relieved to know it was a temporary case of klutz.

Nice Picture but was did GW & QEII speak about?
To: jla
Good lord have mercy! What is that?!?!?!
Actually, the Queen is probably familiar with the outrageous hat business, a tradition at Royal Ascot for over 100 years.
I couldn't find a pic of Gertrude Schilling, the famous "Ascot Hat Lady" who makes Miss Willie look like the rural amateur she is . . . but I did find a doll dressed like her . . .

Nice Picture but was did GW & QEII speak about? The president was probably thanking Queen Elizabeth II for her hospitality and the queen was probably telling him how much she enjoyed having him and the First lady visit and stay with her

I would say that Elizabeth really liked Dubya. And away from the media, she could relax and not strictly adhere to the Rules For a Queen.
She also got along very well with Ronald Reagan.
