Ridge is now suggesting legalizing 12 million criminal illegal aliens, many of which are hardend criminials, criminals that continue to pour into, and flood our country. Here's just one.

Yes, hardened illegal criminals will joint the ranks of legal criminals. But 12 million illegals are not going to be hunted down and deported — no way, no how. Either they be assimilated into the mainstream or they will assimilate themselves into the underground economy, the criminal underground and plague our neighborhoods, towns, and cities...costing us much more money, problems, hatred, etc in the long run.

My impression of the average American voter is that they wanted something done. Don't bother them with the details - just do it! Consequences be damned.

Sadly correct I'd say.

Which is exactly why it is so discouraging.

Many of us worked very hard to get the gop to where it is today. We all felt that if we could just get "our guys" into the leadership rolls, they would right the ship and return to the citizens the rights and freedoms that had been eroded over the last 40 years.

We were counting on gwb and the gop to do what was right.

I think it is safe to say that many people actually have faith in our president, much like they would have religous faith. Many feel that the president and the gop has let them down.

I know I do....................

(alright, enough of this, back to the smartass remarks)

He is supposed to be the leader and take his direction from us.

Bill Clinton was your leader. Go home to Dean.

What an ignorant remark.

Thanks for the laugh!

Why not deport them?

If you had 7 criminals that broke into the back door of your home, would you not want them removed? I would.

The point is where is the deterrent? If these people in DC get their way, and continue to wink and nod at this epic invasion of criminals, and actually aid and abet them, which they are doing now, what is to stop literally *millions* more from coming, while laughing in our faces.

Were we not a nation of laws? What WTF is happening?

If they continue to reward these criminals, it will be nothing but a green light "free for all"....

Bet on it.

It has absolutely NOTHING to do with anyone's 'personality.'

But everything to do with someone's MORALITY.

If you're happy and you know it clap your hands...

The opposite arguement started from Ambrose and even Jim Robinson jumps in on it. Open Discussion

Ah, the last hiding place. Typos as a subject to comment on. It must be tiring to be grasping at those straws all day long.

Instead of spending my time on proper spelling and grammar, perhaps I should be avoiding answering questions and throwing insults (a la "playground") instead.

I thought you were done here?? Do you ever mean anything you post?

You know, when I posted #190, the thought of someone posting a cartoon or waving political banners, actually crossed my mind.

Strange days indeed......

We were counting on gwb and the gop to do what was right.

And in many cases they have. But some around here only focus on those areas they're upset about (which is pretty much human nature).

As a Christian, I have a real problem with the time he equated Allah with Jehovah...

As a Christian, you need to do more research.

To many, the Bible taken literally can be very confusing. To ease the burden, changes were made, and certains assumptions were allowed.

Certain terms were used interchangeably, like GOD, Jehovah, Lord, and the assumption is they are all one and the same. They aren't.

GOD is GOD. Jehovah is Regent of the Moon.

Look up Allah, and look up Jehovah. Allah (Moon God), Jehovah (regent of the Moon). Pretty much the same thing.

President Bush was actually correct in his comparison.

"I'm not saying I like the spending, nor the compromises which I don't think are necessary..."

Good...sometimes I think certain BushBackers adopt anything Dubyuh does as their prefered policy. IMHO, constructive criticism actually assists Dubyuh more than those who blindly "ditto" everything he does.

"...voting for an obscure third party person and therefore potentially enabling a REAL enemy of freedom and responsibility to be elected. It would be stupid to do so.....but apparently there are some freepers hell-bent on being stupid."

I have very little doubt that I'll end up voting fer Dubyuh next November, but many folks I know have seemingly given up hope that Dubyuh will ever follow through on the fiscal conservatism he has often spoken of. If Dubyuh were to take a tighter line on spending over the upcoming year, I believe a lotta folks on the Right would rally around him and the GOP and lead us to a big landslide win in November '04.

Why not deport them?

Come on, Joe, we've been through this many times on other threads. Storm troopers and hunting dogs are not going to go house to house, town by town, city by city searching for illegals and then loading them on trucks and cattle cars and shipping them to their countries of origin — ain't going to happen. Many illegal families have kids who were born here and are legal citizens.
Just trying to deport them would invoke riots, looting, fires, shootings across the country. Campus riots, chantings of Kumbaya and We Shall Overcome, a whole new '60s movement, Kent States.....would ensue with the whole world watching. That's the scenario you are advocating. Yes? No?

It is my goal to conserve America's wonderful, non-living Constitution, and to forever preserve the personal and economic freedoms that embody our way of life.

And if only GWB shared those aims..

Our daily resistance may be the biggest obstacle to the federal pacman swallowing up fifty percent of the economy.

What "resistance"? Everyone who continues to vote for the R's because they are the "lesser of two evils" presents no "obstacle" whatsoever.

Sadly, some conservatives now feel more comfortable with leftists than they do their own kind...

And most of them are elected officials.

In the latest issue of The New Criterion, we see that his appointments to the National Endowment of the Arts have had a wonderful effect.

Arguing for your man by citing as an example an un-Constitutional agency within the government. Simply brilliant.

Let´s proudly stand by our man as he loudly subsumes the popular positions of the left while promoting many of ours in the shadows though his judges, appointees, and minions.

Go right ahead and vote as you see fit. It's a free country (though substantially less free than when Bush took office), for a little while longer anyway.

Those of us who actually respect the Constitution won't be pulling the lever for Socialist Party B over Socialist Party A.

Some consider "compromise" as "caving" to the left.........

BushI got fired for that.
