Ozymandius by Percy Bysshe Shelley
"I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said--"Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desart . . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandius, King of Kings,
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away."

Another bunch of keepers [the photos].
Great to see our heroes taking care of business. As John Scott, FoxNews, said when first reporting the capture: They [the troops] were fully professional.
They make us VERY proud!

Col. James Hickey, 43, also said Special Forces soldiers were seconds from pitching a hand grenade into Saddam's tiny underground refuge when the fugitive dictator's hands appeared above ground in surrender.
Col. Hickey you've just caught that demon Saddam, is there anything you'd like to say?
"Yeah, Tell UBL he's next!!!"

Vanitas Vanitatum
ALL the flowers of the spring
Meet to perfume our burying;
These have but their growing prime,
And man does flourish but his time:
Survey our progress from our birth
We are set, we grow, we turn to earth.
Courts adieu, and all delights,
All bewitching appetites!
Sweetest breath and clearest eye
Like perfumes go out and die;
And consequently this is done
As shadows wait upon the sun.
Vain the ambition of kings
Who seek by trophies and dead things
To leave a living name behind,
And weave but nets to catch the wind.

I love the Army's sense of humor. Upon hearing the name of the operations, some of you may have thought of the cheesy (but entertaining) Patrick Swayze movie from the eighties called "Red Dawn." If you recall, the high schoolers fighting the Russkies in that movie called themselves the Wolverines. Notice the names of the two search parties in the aerial view of the farmstead - Wolverine 1 and Wolverine 2.

If we ever needed a perfect example of WHY we need as much time as we need to locate the WMDs, Saddamn's Hole is it.
We'll need to look under ever grain of sand in Iraq and Syria before this war is over, unless we glass it over.
Saddamn's cowardice is a gift from God, not allah. Saddamn illustrates SHAME in islam, acording to holy scriptures and those who act out Mo'ham's purported commands. If nothing else, does he, Nebuchadrezar III Not, deserve Honor Killing for islam to save face?
Our men are mankind's best. Merry Christ Mass.

Hi Deo, Just got on line thanks for the pictures. DId you see the AP article that had this in it?
When the deposed Iraqi leader was pulled by U.S. troops from a dank hole adjacent to the farmhouse Saturday, he told them in English: "My name is Saddam Hussein. I am the president of Iraq and I want to negotiate."
A U.S. Special Forces soldier replied: "Regards from President Bush."
Couldn't help but chuckle to myself. "REGARDS FROM PRESIDENT BUSH! LOL

The cut-off date for the call in is
TODAY, Monday Dec.15.
If you ever left a message on an answering machine you can do this!
It's really that simple. AND It's a Toll Free Number !
You can leave one or more new messages each day.
Send deployed troops message on SoldiersRadio.com
SoldiersRadio is again this year providing a way to let you tell Service members worldwide that you care and are thinking about them during the Holidays.
You can do an Audio Post Card simply by calling 1-800-330-5090. Your recorded personalized message will be played back on www.SoldiersRadio.com.
You can record a short message (30 seconds) to friends, family members or just a random message of good will. SoldiersRadio will then take your message and put it on the radio Web cast throughout the Holiday Season. Its very simple to do and works both ways ... from the field or to the Service member.
AnyServiceMember.org is also promoting the call-in holiday service in hopes of reaching a large group of people who would like to send a message to Soldiers serving away from home.
