Flights From Paris to U.S. Cancelled
MSNBC | December 24, 2003

Posted on 12/24/2003 10:41:16 AM PST by cyncooper

MSNBC just announced that three flights from Paris to the U.S. have been suddenly cancelled due to "security concerns". The first flight was scheduled to depart Paris heading for Los Angeles.

I could not find an article yet.

Were the flights in the air? I'd be interested to see the passenger manifests. No doubt the FBI already has. Figures the flights would be from France, who I'm sure has already surrendered.

Is this too serious a thread for French bashing?

(At this point, French bashing is too easy, and thus isn't good sport....)

I am googling and looking for some type of written report on this. They did not say if they were airborne and turned around or if the flights were delayed before takeoff.

The bad guys likely presumed (correctly) that the French passengers would have surrendered.

The French angle struck me, too. But if this turns out to have been a real plot that has been thwarted, and the French authorities helped to detect it, I guess we'll have to extend kudos.

France..the home of the shoe-bomber, right? I hope they caught some people with evil intentions. That would make me feel a little better. I feel sorry for President Bush this year...he will not have a relaxing holiday with his family and he sure could use it. And then next year he will have to look forward to the RATS and the media saying he is totally to blame for 9-11. It's going to be a very tough year. My money is still on President Bush in November 04, though.

Was waiting for the first knee-jerk anti-French comment! Deep thinkin', from people who poured good wine onto the sidewalk and called the land of Lafayette "the enemy".
