Maybe the media traps just aren't strong enough. Geraldo looks pretty fit & could probably get out of a trap, but Rita Cosby would be easy. LOL

Shooting birds when there flying in the air also should be banned no need for it...

Kinda hard to spot them on the ground. And my dog enjoys flushing them for me, what am I supposed to do?

Fishing for fish well that is hard, I guess fishing is okay but not Marlin, Dolphin, Whale, Seal.

Um, whales and seals aren't fish. They're mammals. Dolphins are also mammals, but it's also the name of a fish (also known as mahi-mahi or dorado). The only real fish you have on the list is marlin.

I guess fishing is okay

Why? Cuz they're not cute and cuddly? How biased can you be? Is that their fault?

"I am in the medical field and nutrition is important.

How old are you?

" Jesus ate fish, berries nuts wine yogurt bread and proably some lamb at the Passover(and mutton on a regular basis), he was not promoting every animal consumable."

You do realize that's about all they had for food, beside grasshopper. Suppose he'd have turned down a chuck roast?

yum! I still have venison from last year. I shot the buck from the ground (big hefty yearling that thought he was hotstuff with a little doe - he was chasing off her fawn) last year at 30 yards with a bow. My 9 year old was with me. She is a natural about moving in the woods and keeping quiet. It was neat!

I didn't get to go this year because we listed our house and I was too focused on the endgame rather than enjoying time in God's creation, so I welcomed the good excuse to take a little hiatus. I should be all ready for next year. I just got a new drop away rest, new string and cables before season so I wasn't too confident with my setup anyway. Not confident enough to go in the woods and be sure my shot would count. Wounding animals doesn't appeal to me.

Let's not eat each other over what is good hunting and what is bad hunting (trapping).

This issue is about control of humans, it has NOTHING to do with hunting or the alleged rights of animals. It has everything to do with controlling you, your freedom and your life.

Don't be a guppy and fall into the trap. Call them what they are, expose them and then grind them into the dirt.

I regret to inform you that it appears you were unable to restrain yourself before you read the whole thread, as your comment was a reply to my first comment,# 1, about trapping. I only said it comes off looking badly, especially on modern media, i.e. TV. Trapping animals, but not for food, is lousy public relations. I could care less what other people do, as long as I'm not harmed. The folks who trap can do what they want, as far as I'm concerned.

Your point about "good" hunting versus "bad" hunting is well taken. There are places in this country where the left has attempted to draw distinctions between bow hunters and gun hunters, and other places where they attempt to distinguish what is the proper gun for hunting. While you might not think I'm a right wing nut, I do want to expose all the left wing nuts, as well as deny them any possible advantage.

Mink is just a status symbol.

How about Tanuki?

It's great for taking the dogs out at 11pm when it's -20F. Much more effective against the cold than down or wool.

But all I am saying is that there are others that show hunting to be a cruelty act.

There are shows that portray Christians as dimwitted dolts too.

but is this issue an opinion on the treatment of animals or is it something else

Well I tend to think it's something else. The control of human beings. The enforcement of some kind of nebulous morality based on...? Evolution? What? Certainly not based on the Bible. On the one hand the animal rights wackos say humans and animals are equal. On the other hand, they say we should not kill animals. Why not? Animals do it to each other.

There are only a few places where the Bible speaks about the treatment of animals. The closest it comes to 'animal rights' is in Proverbs. "A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal" - yes, they should be treated humanely. But everywhere else it talks about how we may kill them for food and other uses.

It's a fallen creation, so you'd best learn to emotionally deal with it. Death is part of life now, and someday that will be changed. The only really effective way to stop people mistreating animals is to make the *people* more righteous inwardly. But we've already been told that the world is corrupt and will become more so. Without that inner morality to motivate the humane treatment of slaughter animals, the market will not handle the costs that will be incurred from that humane treatment.

Buy freerange meat and/or hunt your own. Vote with your pocketbook. The market is powerful, if you can convince enough people to act honorably.

this of course doesn't address your concerns that 'sport hunters' are uncouth thugs and their 'sport' should be banned. Sport hunting serves a good purpose. The animals are rarely wasted. There is always someone who will use the meat. In fact it is illegal to improperly dispose of what you kill in every place I am aware of.
