Among those who apparently didn't listen to the 43-year-old unemployed woman whose recorded message was posted online last week by The Republic were Arizona's Jon Kyl and John McCain, along with 24 of their Senate colleagues, all of them collecting fat government paychecks.

"Or are the Pubbies just plain dumb and out of the loop about it?"

Not dumb, just arrogant.

It's not a reduction to the bushbots until their house is foreclosed on. Apparently ignorning the middle class is more important than reducing government interference with the capitalist engine.

JMO, you are the mirror image of the poverty pimps, Jeese Jackson and company.

You crowned yourself "protector" of the middle class and get your jollies off blaming "the man" for those who can't make it in an economic system that is dynamic and ever changing and seem to spew venom at those who do not want to join your pity party and have contempt for people who actually succeed and prosper.

BTW, we are all for reducing govt. interferance and most are against your interferance of telling good businesses how to run theirs.

John Kerry and his demo cohorts in the Senate have been blocking energy reform for three years.

Except it will not make it through the house. He should put pressure on them. The trouble is is that we use trade policy as a form of foreign policy in the WOT. He is between a rock and a hard place here. If he loses - which is a real possibility - it will be to this issue. This campaign is unraveling.

That is a false analogy - these are not obsolete industries they are the mainstay of modern industrial civilization. That argument is specious. This is a product of multinationals rationalizing the global economies across borders, not obsolescent technologies. What, if I may ask are theses jobs going to be replaced with?

No it's not. Kerry is a hypocrite and he can't become a populist. Kerry is a liberal and has a long record showing that.

The reality is that the reverberations of 9-11 are still being felt and the economy has not improved or recovered dramatically

Corporate profits have improved significantly. They have done this through outsourcing rather than an expansion of markets or new products.

If the GOP does not face this issue they will not only lose this election but they will be kicked out altogether and we will see another 40 years of Dem power. The GOP is being quite stupid about this. They should be fighting day and night on it butniunstead put unpersuasive people up who bang out macro economic theory. Watch Bush lose over this.

"Watch Bush lose over this."

That and $2.00 plus unleaded will gurantee a demorat victory. Unfortunately that will just accelerate the coming depression and make it worse than if the pubbies were in charge.

No they are outsourced be cause the multinationals can get away with it. We have had the INTERNET for over thirty years, we did not outsource to the USSR because we knew they were the enemy. If what you say is true the western civilization is obsolete because it cannot with stand this. Anything done at a desk will go over there. There are 2.3 billion people in China and India. That means that they can make more engineers that our entire population. How do we survive this. What is this new industry that is going to replace the "buggy whip" industry of software, aerospace and chip design? Nanotech? they will outsource that as well. The historical comparison might be the fencing of the commons in england. This is the abandonment of a social contract that has held this nation together throughout its history. What will you replace it with, sales jobs?

Oh why, oh why didn't President McKinley outlaw automobiles so that buggywhip makers and blacksmiths would not lose their jobs?

Bad analogy. Its more like there's still a demand for buggywhips and blacksmiths, but our gov't is helping to ship the buggywhip and blacksmith jobs overseas so corporations can realize an even bigger profit.

That is utter nonsense. Wealth id generated by manufacturing, design and engineering, not "on site" jobs. You are describing a third world economy. It is ludicrous to imagine that 400 million engineers that will work for one tenth of US wages are not a threat to the middle classes in the Western economies. It just does not make sense.

Really? I doubt it since Kerry doesn't have a energy plan of his own and is on record of voting against drilling.

I guess you really get mad at those pesky little facts.

You are kidding yourself. It does not matter who the Dems are running. They have turned this into a referendum against Bush. How do you think Bill Clinton won the first time around?

Unless the GOP turns this campaign around Bush will lose. He is running out of time. This is the middle of March.

The Dems have finally found their issue and it is tailor made for them. The GOP should have saw this last year and taken it off the table. Bush has not even made a major speech about outsourcing or bring manufacturing back to this nation. What is his policy? All we here is "free trade." Let me tell you, the electorate does not want to here this - they are sick to death of free trade.

But is a globalist pure and simple and he will rise or fall on this issue. My guess is he will fall, and take down the GOP - and maybe the free enterprise system - with him.

Huh I guess you would have stopped Ford 20 years ago from buying a 25% stake in Mazda.

I guess everything to you has to pass the CaserianDoasit test of ecomomic purity.

" Really? I doubt it since Kerry doesn't have a energy plan of his own and is on record of voting against drilling."

Your obvious ignorance of political reality is only more hilarious than your poor use of the English language or inability or refusal to comprehend my posting. I stated that the demorats would make the upcoming depression far worse than if the pubbies were in charge. Kerry's energy plan will insure $3.50 per gallon unleaded, while W's will keep it in the 2's at least.

" I guess you really get mad at those pesky little facts."

No, I only get mad at pesky little bots.

And there will be a scadal maufactured a week. We are just heading into a rat's nest of "congressional probes." There will also be pressure form the EU orcastrated by the DNC. Bush does not seem to understand the forces railed against him. At this point I think he will lose. I am amazed that people on FR think that is campaign is going we. So far it is a disater. Does anyone here watch the mainstream media? I have never seen anything like this: constant negatives and constant proaganda even in the sitcoms. The GOP is not getting it.

Really? Being weak on defense, raising taxes, and promoting gay marriage is going to win it for them.

You have your blinders on. There are a lot more issues out there and just vecause you have a cadre of 20 or so people on FR that think like you do, doesn't necessarily mean that 100,000,000 voters also think like you do.

Now you've done it...you'll be labelled a disruptor or anti-capitalist for going against the party line...
