Sunday, March 14 - Monday, March 15

The Bush Administration refuses to acknowledge those being killed and wounded by war in Iraq , but we will not. In order to acknowledge the true toll of this war, starting at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, where the war dead arrive, this memorial procession will honor our fallen brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, wives, husbands, mothers, fathers and friends, along with Iraqis and the increasing number of people from other countries who have been killed and wounded, while delivering our call to end the violence to the nation's capital.

Sunday, March 14 - Gather at Camden Friends Meetinghouse in Dover at 12:30pm, for a brief service followed by a memorial procession to the gates of Dover Air Force Base. Following a ceremony at the base, a caravan will proceed to Washington DC.

Monday, March 15 - Gathering and observances at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, DC, current residence of many U.S. servicemen and women wounded in Iraq, followed by memorial procession to White House. At the White House, those so moved will deliver our memorial message and call to the end the war to the Bush Administration, risking arrest in an act of nonviolent civil disobedience if necessary.

Please plan to join us on March 14 and 15, to honor those killed and wounded in Iraq , and to say no to war.

The leftists including communists (Medea Benjamin of Code Pink), religious left, and the usual suspects of useful idiots have this obscene protest from Dover AFB in Delaware to Walter Reed Hospital (where most Iraq war wounded go) and the White House in DC.

Calling on all FReepers and patriots to show up at Walter Reed to counter-protest the leftists tomorrow, Monday morning outside Walter Reed Hospital. Leftists plan to start at 9 am. If possible, FReepers should arrive by 8 to 8:30.

Later in the day, we'll counter-protest them at the White House.

For the leftists to go to Walter Reed Hospital, where many of the most seriously wounded troops from the Iraq war are being treated, is beyond obscene. What's next, demonstrating at funerals of Iraq war dead?

Monday, March 15, 8 a.m. to late afternoon. Patriotic counter-demonstration of the leftist front group Military Families Speak Out, which will be staging a mock funeral procession in Washington, D.C. This is the second and final leg of a macabre propaganda effort that will start on Sunday, March 14 at Dover Air Force Base to "honor" those killed in action in Iraq.

The D.C. leg of the funeral procession is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Monday in front of Walter Reed Army Medical Center where many of our wounded service members are recuperating from their injuries. From there the leftists will proceed slowly to the White House (with arrival scheduled for 2 p.m.) where they plan acts of civil disobedience.

This blood dance is co-sponsored by the usual suspects including Medea Benjamin's Code Pink and Leslie Cagan's United for Peace and Justice. They do not care about America's dead and wounded soldiers, except for how they can exploit them and their families to sap morale in order to bring about our defeat.

I took the day off to be at the White House when they arrive; tgslTakoma will be at Walter Reed before traveling to the White House to join up with me and any others who are able to come to DC.

On March 1, Lafayette Park was again opened to the public and to protesters -- I don't know if these anti-war groups have a permit or not. I understand that the sidewalk and street in front of the White House are being torn up at this time so they won't be able to get closer than the edge of Lafayette Park (if they follow the rules in place). We have no information regarding the actions planned for civil disobedience.

Medea "Suzie" Benjamin has been to Iraq three times that I am aware of and her agenda for each trip was to aid the enemy, undermine coalition soldiers' morale and undermine U.S. efforts in the war on terrorism. She gave blood before the war, somehow arrived in Baghdad to establish offices and personnel to counsel our troops with how to apply for conscientious objector status, and brought anti-war parents of active duty men and women to Iraq to demand to see their children and further undermine the war effort.

Don't get me wrong, I totally undertand the need for the activism and the presence.........

However, I can not ask my husband to take any more time off from work to accomodate my activism than he already does....

It might be different if we put our chld in some daycare center after school - but we don't. I either greet the school bus or pick her up every afternoon.

I trust you meant nothing personal, although I felt personally insulted, by your added emphasis. I can not take off from work as a mother.
