This reminds one of the Catholic practice of selling indulgences and buying one's way out of pergatory...the church has its price. Don't bother looking in the Bible for any of this because it isn't there.

Are you aware that the popular GA Jimmy Carter left the Southern Baptists because they were too "conservative" for his tastes? He did not stick with the Southern Baptists in an attempt to "socialize" them. He went to another Baptist faction. But the Democrat Catholics stay Catholic to recruit a bloc of voters.
