Liza Meyers, to her credit, has long tried to give both "sides" to a story.

Kimmitt has a reputation of being a "take no crap" kinda guy....not afraid to speak out of turn at PowerPoint briefings and call people on the carpet when he thinks they are doing/saying stupid things.

He is tough, direct, even rude some say.

Not many people sign up to work for him...but he calls it like he sees it.

Ben-Venista's spin...the only thing that could have forced the FBI and the CIA...to share information was leadership."

An unrealized compliment to W, because that's exactly what happened. W's leadership got it done.

Brouder on MTP: Where's the President? Awol in 'all of this'? The President is still not taking the threat of terrorism seriously.

[Huh? Clinton sure didn't. Bush has liberated 25 million in 2 different nations. Talk about spin!]

MTP panel is trying to make more issues out of the PDB? How did the President react to this?

[Who wrote this PDB anyway? A Clinton holdover? Why didn't GW clean house on day 1 of his Presidency? Those Clinton holdovers will continue to be a thorn.]

Dittos to that. Brit has the level-headed "take" on all of them. He's the best in the busines imo.

Brit just called Kristol "General Kristol" - hehehe - but then made another good point. The concern is not the military, but the Iraqi institutions that have not risen to the task during this crisis. He specifically mentioned Sistani's inability to influence events.

Brit raised a good and upsetting point. Where is the Iraqi leadership?

Many of the Clintonistas switched to civil service positions before Clinton left office. Once in that type of position, they cannot be fired except with great difficulty.

They are in DoD, Justice, State, CIA, etc. Many of the sniping leaks come from these people. Ashcroft did a good job of marginalizing them within Justice, by reorganizing and reassigning.

One of the reasons Clarke wanted that Homeland Security position was because when they reorganized and moved people I think they vetted those that went to Homeland Security. If you will notice, we are NEVER getting leaks from Ridge's department. Clarke was foiled not only in his ambition but in his desire to be where he would have information that he could feed to the media and the Rats.

Reminds me of the 20:20 hindsight in 1992. Quayle should have said, "Yeah, you're right. I married Marilyn."

I don't get the Sunday shows for a few more minutes. On Fox & Friends, Juliette and a talking head were talking about the Aug 6 memo, and why these are not ALL made public, and what about the one on Aug 7?

I simply can't watch the weekend bunch on Fox and Friends, but thanks for that tidbit. Did anyone answer about an Aug. 7 memo? Did they raise that question at all or are you making that point?

Richard Ben-Veniste and the rest of the partisan RATS have found the position in life that suites them best: Armchair quarterbacks looking backwards with perfect 2020 hindsight!
