Well, he probably IS more politically astute than the group Russert had on.

The elephant in the room with Brownstain and the others on Timmy's panel, who are conjecturing about President Bush's re-election chances, is: are there enough idiots in this country who would go for the alternative?

I've had it up to my eyebrows w/Mathews, Russert et al. CLICK. With all the newspapers and TV hosts/guests I'm boycotting, I'll have much more time to read books, garden, and enjoy the life (free of high blood pressure) and the family that the good Lord gave me.

The help wanted notice read: only mean-spirited Democrats/Clinton lackeys and spineless Republicans need apply.
It's really disheartening to see them rolled over again and again when such shoddy tactics are being used by the RATS and all the Republicans would have to do is dig in and fight back and they'd win this thing in a day. Why are the Republicans such whimps on this issue? Why? Why? why?

Hijacking threat cited before 9-11
from The Washington Post

So, when since the late 1960s has there NOT been a threat of hijacking???

The basic RAT strategy is to take Bush's strengths --Iraq and Afghanistan--and make them weaknesses. All the books, all the pundits and all the time this is what is happening.

I like the TV advertisements that the Pubbies are using; however, we need a different approach. One would be to run into their claims with commercials quoting significant RAT Senators pro and con on the Iraq War. Another would be to quote Apple and others from the NYT and then with what actually happened. Also, the who thrust of clever commercials is a simple message that denigrates and undercuts the personalities of the opponents. Focus on this and remembering that half the people are smarter than the other half will do wonders.

I would also add one thing to the previous post about Pubbie commercials. That is besides undercutting the opponent the message, subtle or not so subtle, should be how the President prevailed and was right in the face of hostile name calling assaults on his position. Quoting the RATS and the pundits verbatim at their worst is bound to have an effect.

The Church Commission installed the wall between CIA and FBI after the Vietnam lefties like Kerry, complained of being investigated by Nixon.
The 9/11 Circus Commission misses this point completely. The RATS cover it up. The "republicans" whimper on the sidelines, afraid to mention anything that might spoil the circus fun.

They are afraid of the NY Times, WAPO, CBS, ABC, NBC, etc. They talk big on the campaign trail out in fly-over country but then they go to Washington and are exposed as the wimpy cowards they are. Afraid someone will write or say something bad about them.

Why are the Republicans such whimps on this issue? Why? Why? why?

Not just this issue, but many issues. And not just now, but for generations. Why were Republicans in the minority in Congress for a couple of generations until a firebrand like Newt came along? The answer, I believe, is because Republican congress-critters like being in the minority. The perks are pretty much the same, the pension is the same, but there's much less work to do — and more importantly, much less responsibility.

Since few Republican congress-critters ever fight for my interests, I'm beginning to wonder why I bother registering as a Republican.

Brit raised a good and upsetting point. Where is the Iraqi leadership?

Awaiting the "right moment" to stab us in the back.

Still, I would imagine they are more informed than the average liberal. Wouldn't you?

Thanks so much for signing up today to post this. However, you are probably not as "deep" as you would like to think.

Unfortunately, the two most common elements in the universe are Hydrogen and stupidity.
The entertainment media are planning the broadest spectrum propaganda campaign since the "Eternal Jew" hit Germany. It's already started and the election will be coinciding with the new TV season. How many anti-Bush statements masquerading as television shows be sucked up by the American public? They will allowed as "satire" with no response because of campaign election laws.
Howard Stern is shooting off his anti-Bush yap, when it's Kerry who said he should be pulled off the air. Another celebrity with the political astuteness of an avacado.
Bumper sticker suggestion:
You can keep Howard Stern on the radio, just keep George W. Bush in the White House.
please use, if you have the means to print and distribute.
I don't put anything past anyone this election, there is too much at stake. Be prepared for US and Coalition to be trotted out as poster children.
Take nothing off the table, unless you want to see President Kerry in office.

Well, let's don't get carried away here. I was lamenting the fact that the good guys weren't showing enough guts. But they're still the good guys. Please don't forget how bad the bad guys really are.

The media, especially the Washington Compost knew about the memo back in 2002 as the article by Woodward here indicates

Are you saying that you think none of them really believe in what they say during the campaign? If that's really true, then the battle is truly lost. I don't believe that.
