U.S Senate Restores Gorelick Wall (Tell GOP Yellow Bellied Saps You'll Never Re-elect Them Alert)

The Legality of the NSA's Intercept Program--Well, there it goes as far as we're concerned. The left is still hanging onto it, tooth and nail--and talking impeachment. It's just plain sickening.

Victoria Toensing & James Bamford Discussing FISA on C-SPAN Now--This article explains fully how the president can legally wiretap US citizens without a warrant. It cites the law, something the left is loathe to actually do.

“Bush Spying Story” Is Four Years Old--Somehow the geeky Wired News managed to scoop the vaunted New York Times by more than four years:

Warrantless Searches of Americans? That's Shocking! (except when it happens every day)

Why Bush Approved the Wiretaps (including FISA roadblock with Moussaoui)

--Has the DNC not been paying attention? Pelosi and Reid have ADMITTED publicly they were briefed. OMG
Not to mention, they ALL voted on the Amendment to the FISA:
Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004: “Lone Wolf” Amendment to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act
House Vote
This is getting too easy.

Unwarranted Outrage (The Times blew our cover)--Congress (especially but not exclusively democrats) is claiming, on a daily basis, that it is incompetent. How can the "he told us a dozen times but we don't know what he is talking about" mantra be considered a good political tactic?

Bush Announces Do-Not-Wiretap List

Echelon; Worldwide Conversations Being Received (Transcript of 60 Minutes)--what Clinton did was set up the system which allowed the NSA to spy. It includes hooks into the hardware of telephone central offices, Internet ISPs and satellite stations worldwide for intercepts. This was written about in the technical press as far back as 1999. Some background information from 2000 is here. The FBI has a similar system called Carnivore. Congress has been funding both systems, so the feigned surprise is interesting.

Biden: Domestic Spying Not Impeachable Offense--Babs Boxer and Dean are asking whether the spying was impeachable, so nothing they try from now on will surprise me. They want him OUT before the 2008 election, or the 2006 if they can swing it. What can one make of a party trying to oust a president because he's fighting too hard in a war against a foreign enemy? Anybody that trusts this party with national security is out of their minds.

Bush Strikes Back

At the Corner, Byron York has posted the text of President Bush’s radio address, directly responding to the latest incident of New York Times perfidy:  link: 484 comments |

So, Congress knew about this all along...Congress had oversight, and was properly informed, as was the judiciary. Yet, this wasn't sufficient for someone - and the news was delivered on the day after successful elections in Iraq. Agenda driven media? Absolutely.--

Nancy Pelosi: I Was Briefed on NSA Program (She Signed Off On It) The Law on it: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1542923/posts?page=10#10

Two things:

First, they report this like its a BAD thing....after 9/11, THANK GOD we had a President with the balls and brains to sign such an order......this is a STRENGTH and display of character...not somthing evil that the MSM seems to want to convey...

Second.....WTF! Its is blowing my mind that we have to protect our secrets and security from two entities.....our primary enemies, and our own media (secondary enemies).....rhetoric aside about the MSM being our enemies.......THEY ARE! We could be planning major activities to protect our nation, and if the MSM found out about it...they'd report it.....THAT FRIENDS IS AN ENEMY...........I'd much rather they eavesdrop on potential terrorists than put government run video cameras in public (as they do in the UK, ect). This faux outrage over spying and loss of privacy by the left is incredibly hypocritical, to say the least.

Thanks for all your hard work. This thread is a wealth of info. I don't know what kind of teflon Jamie Gorelick is using but it seems to work for her. She has done more damage to our Natl. Secuity than most Jihadis. She apparently has lots of protection in the Justice Dept. from the Clinton holdovers. They are far more interested in nailing Tom DeLay than protecting US citizens from terrorists.
