Church bells peal a palatable tune; the Islamic call to prayer sounds like the muezzin got something tender caught whilst zipping up his pants.

Wait---they wear pants? And they have something significant enough to be caught by a zipper?

Can we at least claim persecution over 9/11 and endless warfare since 650ad roughly?

Bush is dealing with the 9/11 folks, and I trust him to do it well.

These people are legally within the U.S. and themselves committing no crime. Therefore, any action against their ideas of expansion must also be within U.S. law, considering the strategies of the other side.

Let's see now . . . you may not have a copy of the Ten Commandments silently displayed in the lobby of a courthouse or on its lawn, but you can have a call to islamic prayer broadcast across school yards, into public buildings, and public parks. The cancer needs to be stopped now, before it is too late.

"So now you're doing the 'it's our fault' argument even. Whose side are you two on?"

I'm an American and a Christian, and I think that as we have become less Christian we have become more vulnerable to subversion or attack by enemies both internal and external. An affluent, soft America that accepts sexual promiscuity, tawdry entertainment, abortion, homosexuality, drug and alcohol abuse, etc., is arguably (1) less likely to take threats seriously; and (2) more likely to attract the attention of Islamic religious zealots. This is not the same as saying "it's our fault," because that would imply the Islamists have a right to do what they are doing, or that I de-value our freedoms.

why the outrage?

Not to be Clintonesque, but it is because it "is." Does it matter why? If you need a reason, think of Pavlov's dog. Bell...food...bell...food...bell...saliva...food. The saliva is a conditioned reflex. For many, the sound of the call to Islamic prayer evokes images of bodies falling from WTC towers and thus rage. For me it evokes the images of funerals of Marines killed in Iraq and great sadness. Why do so many blacks become incensed with rage when a white kid paints his face black to imitate a hip-hop star at a fraternity party and demand that he be kicked out of college---and then have their demands granted by administrators lest there be a riot on campus? I don't understand the rage but it is what it is.

American Jihad will wake you up, if nothing else does. And get a load of this quote from British moslems from another article...when are westerners going to wake up?

Terror on the dole

"The mosques say one thing to the public, and something else to us. Let's just say that the face you see and the face we see are two different faces," says Abdul Haq. "Believe me," adds Musa, "behind closed doors, there are no moderate Muslims."...

Check this out. Did you know that all children are born a Muslim.

Every American should read what's here.

and what is here.

The third link you listed is a total riot. Here is just one of the little pearls of wisdom that I gleaned from this Islamic "Dear Abbdullah" site.

Question:

"It's neccessary to do Intercourse on the first wedding Night ? If Yes, why and wht is the reason ? To do Intercourse wid her i have to put my all Sperms on her ? Then i will get a baby in this world ?"

Answer:

No, it is not necessary.

Having a baby is not based on one’s actions of intimacy. It is the sole will of Allah.

I summon my blue-eyed slaves anytime it pleases me. I command the Americans to send me their bravest soldiers to die for me. Anytime I clap my hands a stupid genie called the American ambassador appears to do my bidding. When the Americans die in my service their bodies are frozen in metal boxes by the US Embassy and American airplanes carry them away, as if they never existed. Truly, America is my favorite slave."

Actually, I understand the outrage on a psychological level; I was looking for a legal rationale for banning the Islamic prayer if Christian church bells are allowed. I personally think it would be menacing to hear the Islamic prayer blared over my neighborhood; it would seem like the country had been taken over by a foreign power. But just because something alarms me doesn't mean I have a right to ban it. Many atheists are alarmed by public expressions of Christianity, but that doesn't mean they should have the right to prevent them.

During WW2, would we have allowed Nazi recruitment centers to blare annoucnments to join from the rooftops?

I am glad to hear that they can't, would you please tell the courts, so they can adjust my rights?

Everyone that reads this should go to the ACLU website, www.aclu.com and scroll to the bottom of the page, click the 'feedback' link and ask if the ACLU will fight this Muslim prayer in the public square as aggressively as it fights Christian prayer in the public square?

I agree with you; I think the courts are full of sh*t on this topic; there is no way the U.S. Supreme Court should be allowed to dictate what can be said at a high school graduation ceremony.

You could always make a legal rationale out of time (nothing before 8AM, or after 7 PM, for example) or decibel level. You could make a complaint threshold standard, too. If 200 (pick your number) residents within a quarter-mile range complain, then the noise is automatically deemed excessive. Sure, it could happen with the church bells, too, but at least this gives the non-Islamists a fighting chance.

A lot of communities will nail you if your car stereo or boom box is too loud. I guess as long as its in Arabic and musically challenged it's ok...

I don't hate this country, but, I do hate faggotry, political correctness, abortion and the direction we're heading in.

O. K. I'll believe you. But real Americans work through these things together for the benefit of Americans. Muslimes claiming special privelages above our domestic religions and practices, is not helping America.

Maybe when the war on terror is over, people will feel differently about muslimes, right now, they really need to keep a lower profile or they may find thenselves, uh, well, they just may find themselves , you know, getting what's coming.

Part of our problem as Christians in the U.S. is that since 1830 a pessimistic apocalytpic paralysis - rapture fever if you will - has allowed for a retreat from cultural dominion.

Rather than passively waiting for an "end times" we should be making this the 'end times' of Islam as the claims of Jesus Christ are pressed and Gospel victory advanced throughout our culture.

Take heart - Christ is king over all creation. We only need begin acting like we believe that is true.
