Kerry Bronze Star Certificate signature questioned. Investigation warranted?
Kerry's PDF Military Files on his Website ^ | 4-15-04 | me

Posted on 04/22/2004 10:49:24 AM PDT by moondoggie

How come the paperwork on Kerry's Bronze Star Award is signed by John Lehman, Sec. of the Navy????

In addition, the date Lehman (supposedly) signed it is not on the document.

Did Kerry not get the award when Chaffee was Secretary of the Navy? If not, why not?

Did Kerry get the award 15 years late?

Or is the paperwork a "sham" and somebody made a big booboo?

I'll post the document as soon as I find it again. Maybe somebody here has it bookmarked? And, if there's already been a thread on this that I missed....please direct me to the proper thread.

Thanks!

Perhaps a request for a replacement of a lost original was made in the '80's? Otherwise, what gives?

Even then, it would be a copy of an archived original - the original signature would be present.

There's no way in hell that last name in the signature is "Chafee."

Here was my Google:

Chafee "secretary of the navy"

Click on "images" and voila, the last image on the first page.

In that case it looks like Kerry was actually awarded this citation a decade later.

A reserve officer can be called to active duty, they are still designated USNR, but hold the rank, just the same.

It is just the way reg Navy (Army, AF) keeps the reserve forces under control.

I think it is instructive to understand what makes Kerry tick. He is an ambitious self-promotor who has parlayed his brief Vietnam experience into fame, fortune, and power. He can't let it go.
Kerry must have requested an amendment to his DD214. The amendment (DD215), among other things deletes the Vietnam Service Medal and replaces it with the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 bronze stars. The date of this amendment is March 12, 2001!!! Another example: His Bronze Star citation was originally signed by Zumwalt when he was Commander of the US Forces in Vietnam. For whatever reason, at least 12 years after the incident, John Lehman, SecNav 5 Feb 1981 - 10 Apr 1987, signs the same citation. Either Kerry never received his medal at the time or he maybe he threw it away.

What I glean from these two examples is that Kerry is caught in a time warp. He is totally obsessed with Vietnam and his decorations. I can't imagine anyone going back and amending their record that way. What could possibly be the purpose? This is sick. I would also add his recreating and filming his "battles" while being assigned to Vietnam and the Vietnam shrine he keeps in his home. It is all a case of image building, but what I find bizarre is the fact that he believes that he really is a "highly decorated war hero."

I have another observation that I'd like to throw in the mix... that is that his DD-214 does show the Bronze and Silver stars as authorized.

Assuming that the DD-214 was issued contemporaneous with discharge... that makes it even more unusual that Lehman would be signing the citations. There's no date to show when the 214 was typed up, and I can't make out the form revision number at the bottom.

There is a DD-215, though, which is used for corrections and revisions to the 214. It changes a couple of his other service ribbons and adds a couple of awards from the Republic of Vietnam. There's no date on the 215 either, but it is typed on a form that has a 2000 rev code.

I'm not sure what this means, but it sure doesn't make a lot of sense. If he had the stars on separation... why did it take so long for the citation to come through?

One thing is for sure - John F'ing Frankenberry really needs some serious "questioning of his patriotism" on this.

OK folks, to make this iron clad, we gotta find john lehmans signature.

Does anyone know what Lehman was doing at the time that Kerry was awarded his Bronze Star? Was he in *any* way connected to the military?

Look at the post right above your #109. That may answer some of your questions.

Even if this all turns out to be legit, it still is wierd.

I just did a search in who the secretary of the Navy in 1969 was and it showed the same result as yours

31 Jan 1969 - 4 May 1972 John H. Chafee

Something is definitely very questionable here

first, that is definitely Lehman's sig.

Second, the time lapse tells me that Kerry wanted this award in a bad way to further his political career.

Here's the next question. Because of these inconsistencies, I wonder if that award is not totally incredible.
