Did Hillary reveal who leaked report in her questioning of Rumsfeld today?
Senate Armed Services Committee ^ | 5/7/04 | Senate Armed Services committee

In today's testimony before the Armed Services Committee Hillary Clinton may have revealed the source of the leak of the report. Please have a look at the relevant snippets of the transcript from today.

I guess my theory is this: If she isn't behind the leak, she knows exactly who is.

Bush must wish now that he had cleaned house when he came into office. I wondered why he kept any of Clinton's people around!

And don't think for a minute that CBS wasn't part and parcel of the entire coterie.

Timing seems very suspect.

1. Gets our attention off of the Gorelick/Reno/Clinton issues on the 9/11 Commission.

2. Puts all the DEM Bush, Rumsfield, Ashcroft haters in seventh heaven.

3. Gives thunder thighs National Exposure to the American public.

Wonder if Hillary or any of her friends at the Pentagon ever had contact with the perps in the Military. Need to follow the money trail of those who are involved in this fiasco.

Well if you want some fun, put "leaked memo Democrats" into a google search. You get some 11,000 hits!

And this one from FNC website, Nov 5, 2003:

"Among other things, the memo recommends that Democrats "prepare to launch an investigation when it becomes clear we have exhausted the opportunity to usefully collaborate with the [Senate] majority. We can pull the trigger on an independent investigation of the administration's use of intelligence at any time — but we can only do so once ... the best time would probably be next year."

The last paragraph of the memo reads, "Intelligence issues are clearly secondary to the public's concern regarding the insurgency in Iraq."

Clinton was referring to the report. From her take, the report was everywhere for anyone who wanted to read.

The title of this thread reads......

Did Hillary reveal who leaked report in her questioning of Rumsfeld today?

I thought that it was the "pictures" that were leaked?

Is the issue here Clinton's knowledge of the pictures, the Taguba report or both?

Both I believe because this RAW report was the first time it had the pictures with it

Somehow CBS received it before the Pentagon

and the first time Rummy and the Generals read that report was on Monday

You say the report was well known. I don't know how you know that. All I know is when it made the public, when somebody took a secret document out of prosecutorial channels and released it to the press, I do not believe it was yet anywhere in the Pentagon.

Read between the lines, I read, "Hmm, now you gave me a pretty clear idea on who might have leaked the report. I will then make him/her sing like the Bronx Opera House. After that, the DOJ will open a criminal investigation into how you received and held stolen federal property and possibly intervened in a criminal matter. We'll be nice guys and not invoke Patriot, which this stupidity--if we've totally got our panties in knot over it--can be used to beat you with like a red-headed stepchild. You may want to consult your attorneys, Elenaor Roosevelt or whichever manifestation of Gaia you supposedly worshipped for guidance and help because the rules of the Senate may not protect you."

My guess...on how this all became public in the first place...is that the investigtors had to move files (text and images) around by email. Its very likely that some Army moron or some contractor sitting at the LAN help desk...was browsing through incoming traffic to an organization and saw some bulky files. They open them up...read through...and realize the whole story. Its of tremendous value. They call a friend to discuss how to "advertise" these. They find a couple of major news organizations....CNN, CBS, foreign services, etc. You simply show one photo and the news folks are ready to wave $20k for the whole group of photos. You sell these very quickly. You walk away. It'll be impossible for Rummy to track down the leak here if the LAN administrator was doing it. And the bottom line is that they should have moved the traffic via classified means and it would have been more protected.

The report was leaked, and so were the photos. Clinton was talking about the report specifically though today.

The photos can't be far behind though.

I remember being ticked off when I read that when it first came out

Tin Foil Alert!!!!!

I just thought of something.....

Remember back to last November, around Thanksgiving. Who, besides President Bush made a trip to Iraq (after she left Afghanistan)? These allegations started around October and November, got reported by the Brass in January and March. Could a certain person's trip have been more than just a 'listening' tour?

how are we going to find out who leaked it? this only goes anywhere if an actual person is attached to it. to just say "it was leaked" is not going to be a story.

Myers was very clear (except in the one instance I cited) in drawing a clear distinction between the report that was released and the pictures.

In other words, Hillary intimidated and threatened another Senator to get that seat.

And did it, no doubt, to beef up her resume in her run for the Presidency.

Well, it's the only way the old battle-axe could get at least some military "credentials." Hey, it's not like she went to Vietnam and scammed some medals for superficial scrapes and scratches...
