It's come up in a roundabout way: Saddam paid the guy who financed Ritter's "documentary." It wouldn't surprise me if more turned up. I don't think we've scratched the surface yet.

Either that, or he was being blackmailed, although with his job in the can and Saddam and his evil spawn out of the picture, that seems less likely since Scottie hasn't changed his tune and seems firmly in the enemy camp even now.

Ritter didn't have to be paid.
Hussein and crew simply let him know that the videos of his dalliance with the children in Baghdad would be difficult to keep under wraps if he didn't stop his accusations against the dictator.
It turned him around - a nice 180 - and quick.
Mission accomplished.
This is the reason that homosexuals and pedophiles are so powerfully screened agains for any sensitive intel position.
