FURIOUS BUSH DEMANDS TO SEE ALL PRISONER ABUSE PHOTOS, VIDEOS
Drudge ^ | 5/9/04 | Matt Drudge

Posted on 05/09/2004 6:44:14 PM PDT by demkicker

A furious President Bush has demanded to see all photos and videos showing abuse of Iraq detainees, a senior White House source said late Sunday.

"The president was blindsided by the first TV images, he will not be blindsided again," the source, who demanded anonymity, explained to the DRUDGE REPORT.

The president has instructed Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to present him with him all known images that could further deepen the crises.

Monday editions of the NEW YORKER feature photos of a dog attacking a naked Iraqi detainee at Abu Ghraib prison.

President Bush was aware of the photo, the top source claims.

The White House is preparing for more fallout, and leaks from lawmakers.

The Pentagon is considering the possibility of showing the unseen material to members of Congress.

"It's clear the moment the evidence is sent to the Congress, we will see a new feeding frenzy in the media."

Drudge just said there are pictures of soldiers being used for homosexual sex.

How many of these pictures are fake?

The leaks must be from the politicians with a (D).

Photos, any more, are too easily faked.

If the military posits that some are faked, I'll agree with you.

So far, all the photos have been authenticated.

"I think you're right, and, unfortunately, I believe that, within a month, Bush will accept it."

I hope you're both wrong. I'm not a very big Rumsfeld fan, but this isn't something he should be taking the fall for. Let our military courts determine fault and punish those involved accordingly. Unless and until somebody comes out with strong evidence that Rumsfeld deliberately witheld information with malicious intent, I hope the President supports him fully.

What really bothers me about the reporting on these prisoners is that nothing is said about why they were in the prison in the first place.

Drudge has a picture up that shows a man about to be attacked by a police dog. The picture only tells the story of the dog about to attack, but what did this Jihadist do or not do to call on the K-9 team. These barbarians have no problem becoming a Martyr if they take a Prison guard with them, or kill a bunch of our soldiers in a suicide attack. If a prisoner refuses to follow an order, turn the Dogs on him, strip him naked and use a water cannon or whatever it takes to make the Jihadist do what he is told. If he attacks one of the guards, SHOOT TO KILL.

These Pictures do not tell the whole story, they are a nanosecond captured on digital media, AND THAT'S IT!. Nothing has been said or reported about what led up to the three naked Iraqi's shackled together and laying on the prison floor. In fact, if the media was to portray the pic in a positive light, they could say that the prison guard was trying to help the up after they fell.

The most disturbing thing about the pictures for me was the smiling couple as the posed behind the huddled naked Iraqi's and the picture of the Female pointing at the genitals of the male prisoners, They disgraced themselves and the Military they were supposed to be serving

Homosexual marriage comming to the USA on May 17 to a courthouse near you.

The media will be silent on the homosexual aspects of this humiliation effort. It is the elephant in the scandal.

Supposedly, per some reports, there are a 1000 photos. So far, all I've seen on the net are about a half-dozen.

"He needs to get on offense and make it plain to the media that any further leaking of photos of the Iraqi prison abuse will only serve to hurt our military men and women."

Oh, like they're gonna care. They are so blinded by hatred for the president they don't care about anything else other than hurting him.

take an example - some perp takes a swing at a police officer during the arrest, he's cuffed and restrained now, you don't think the cop might have the dog take a little nip out of him for resisting arrest, even after he is cuffed? It likely happens every day in this country.

It does...not!

You have no idea how big city police forces work, apparently. Yes, there's plenty of force used in subduing a fleeing suspect who's resisting arrest, but, once he's in custody, officers better restrain themselves, or Internal Affairs will have their asses!

One never knows whether a video camera might be trained on the arrest (and that video camera might even be in one of the patrol cars).

sure, she was "in the way" I guess, they rammed her with the horse when perhaps "excuse me, step back" would have been enough. this wasn't at some riot mind you - this was crowd control at a concert.

Well, brutalizing prisoners has no place in any war we wage.

My bad... didn't communicate that properly. I do NOT condone the abuse of prisoners.

We have honor and the Brits have honor that has been
cultivated over many centuries. During the Revolutionary
War, some of their officers and soldiers weren't
honorable as have been some of our soldiers and officers in
wars. Overall, there is honor and that will always stand
us in good stead in the long run.

As I stated earlier, if this is not isolated to Abu Ghraib, it will be major political disaster, and if these other alleged videos and images are released or surface in the media, and they are as bad as what has been reported by several sources, it will be politically devastating.

but some cops do, let's not be naive here, some do. and when it happens, I don't see police commissioners all over the country resigning.

"It is clear that, for the DemocRATs, this is no longer a military issue but a political one."

When was it ever anything but political with them? I must have missed that.

Well thank goodness you're not in charge. While I agree that reparations are not in order based on the photos and evidence we've seen thus far, I do feel that those who break the code (UCMJ) should be punished accordingly. If we are to totally give up on the rule of law, we may as well have an ICBM launch party with Russia and get it over with. However you feel about the prisoners involved, there is no escaping the fact that the soldiers broke the code and dishonored themselves and the service in doing so. The military folks we've heard from so far on active duty share the sentiment that the code and honor exist above personal feelings. The soldiers involved in this agreed to abide by the UCMJ and the laws of war. Having violated those rules, they will now be tried and, if appropriate, punished. I trust our military courts to do the right thing.

If we are attempting to install some kind of American-style of democratic republic there, then it doesn't matter what the Jihadist did.

It is not up to the guards to mete out punishment.

Does it not make you wonder about the motives behind those who leaked the pictures when Hillary sees the pictures before Rumsfeld?
