Reagan's tax cuts led to the longest peace-time period of economic growth in history. The fact that a democrat spend-thrift congress was able to increase spending at four times the rate of revenue growth made our deficit emormous.
And the so-called clinton belt-tightening that you mentioned only came about after a GOP congress cut up his credit card.
That should do wonders for your credibility here.

Good Morning to All Conservatives, and those Americans who will receive this message;
By now I am sure that all of you have heard of the death this weekend of Ronald Reagan. I would like to share with you, the sense of loss that I feel from this announcement. Our country has seen the last days of one of its greatest leaders.
I can say to you truthfully, that in some amount, I stand before you as the President of United Conservatives of Virginia, because of Ronald Reagan. It was his speeches where I first heard about lower taxes, rugged individualism, love of America and patriotism, and good-old-fashioned conservativism.
Coming from a black liberal political household in the '70s, Ronald Reagan was not a topic that brought out good vibrations. Upon taking the time to listen to him and his speeches, I learned that I had more in common with conservatives than I did with the political leaders that I was brought up to admire.
It is he, and the association with other good conservatives, that brought me to the political realization where I am today. For this, though he never knew me, I am and will ever be grateful.
President Bush has called for all American flags to be flown at half-staff for this month, and with this I will gladly participate. I feel in my heart that we are entering a different time. We will have to be even more vigilant in our pursuit of conservativism. There are those who will now make their move to revise and revision all of what has happened with President Reagan.
I call on everyone to be aware, and if needed we will be there to shout if necessary and voice the truth of what is and will be one of the greatest presidencies in the history of this country.
My love and prayers are with Nancy Reagan and her family as they proceed to move on in their lives without a great man who has been key in their lives. God's blessing to all.

Rotunda Arrival Ceremony - Wednesday, June 9 at 7:00 PM
An Arrival Ceremony will be held in the Capitol Rotunda following a procession up Constitution Avenue. This ceremony will be open only to President Reagan's immediate family, members of the House of Representatives, the Senate, visiting heads of state, and government officials.
Lying in State - Public Viewing - June 9, 10 and 11
At approximately 8:30 PM, after the Arrival Ceremony, the Capitol Rotunda will open to the public. Staging for public entry will be on the West Front of the Capitol. The Rotunda will remain open to the public twenty-four hours a day until early Friday morning, June 11. Visitors are encouraged to call 202-225-6827 for recorded information regarding the public viewing.
Departure Ceremony and State Funeral - Friday, June 11
On Friday morning at 10:30 AM, there will be a Departure Ceremony as the body of President Reagan is transferred to the Washington National Cathedral. The State Funeral in his honor will be held at 11:30 AM.

My view is that it's a mistake he made almost sixty years ago, and has atoned for it since. He has an "A" rating from the NAACP, and has had for decades.
In fact, up until the '60s, the Democratic party was the party of the south, and as such, was filled with racists and quasi-racists, (such as Byrd and Strom Thurmond) who would be appaling to me today, from a civil rights standpoint. But as the Republican party began pandering more to folks in the Deep South with strong racist ties, the party identities with regards to civil rights began to change.
The UN's a FRiggin' joke and needs to be ignored and de-funded!!
So you're OK with allowing widespread starvation, civil rights abuses, AIDS and other VD epidemics around the world to go on, and have no organization in place to do anything about it? Just checking.
