My eldest was born in St. Petersburg. We lived there for a period as my spouse had lived there from age 12. I think DC does not have the typical breeze we experienced there.

Today was particularly beastly and I am sorry it was so because it was not typical of this time of year.

I am proud of those who came from LA and MI and ME to show their love.

Barbara and Bush 41 are class people, they come to the Keys often. They are even nicer in person.

Thank you thank you... I am tired of all the potshots at mourners who stood for hours and in sweltering humidity to pay their last respects.

Reagan was not cut down in his prime. He lived a full life and died a happy man, as Patti Davis wrote in her recent article. Some ultra-somber reaction would make little sense, and Reagan probably wouldn't appreciate it either...

Yeah, that is how I see it, but some folks have never seen one of these things.

To them, a funeral includes the burial.

Lincoln was put on a train and had funerals along the way for many days while going back to Illinois.

Washington had funerals without the body all across the country for months.

The entire country get's involved and pays respect.

Although it may be natural in these times to think that, I don't believe we've seen the last of his kind. As President Reagan himself said, America's best days are yet ahead. She has produced great leaders in the past and they will arise again.

We have just been extremely privileged to live in an era when a leader of his stature came around.

I'm just assuming here... that the majority of Reagan democrats still feel as we do about President Reagan, and are equally repulsed by the vulgarity that the current democrats are displaying towards him.

The love and admiration displayed for President Reagan in the past 4 days has left me in a state of awe.

It will no doubt be a great comfort to Mrs. Reagan too. It's awe-inspiring indeed.

If they had but watched what the cameras captured, they'd have noticed MANY people dabbing at their eyes in those crowds. Some were doubtless just onlookers, but many were obviously saddened.

the libs don't have a clue how badly they've screwed themselves over losing the Reagan democrats. I was watching C-Span earlier today and a bunch of lefties were on a panel discussing why Fox is kicking the patooties outta CNN - each one was asked why and none had the right answer. They refuse to see that the country is to the right of them. They refuse, in their blind arrogance, to consider Americans as capable of thinking for ourselves. And I hope their confusion continues.

With a name like "F16Fighter" you should know what it means when someone calls out "Knock it off" during a dogfight.

Knock it off kids, this here's a funeral.

I'm pretty sure this is what they said on Fox: that tonight was the State Funeral, and Friday is the National Funeral Service.

re: chyron: "That's the technical name for the letters/graphics a television station puts on your screen 'on top of' the picture."

If you want to be precise, Chyron is a trademark for a device that superimposes electronic graphics on a television image...and is kind of like Xerox to photocopies.
