If anybody recorded the events (funeral procession, rotunda speeches) yesterday, Wednesday, I wonder if I can pay you for a copy. CSPAN didn't repeat it.

If you look on the CSpan site...They have videos of the procession and the funeral..If you go to White House.gov you will find Cheney's remarks.

Bummer :-( I found it to be quite soothing and comforting to watch last night (especially as one who won't be able to be there in person).

Thanks. I was watching C-SPAN off and on last night and I didn't see a replay of the day's events. I'm at work now and can't watch TV.

I'll take what I can get but I'd really like a videotape/DVD of the day's events yesterday.

Oh wait, I may have misunderstood. C-Span is selling videos? I'll have to go check it out.

If you look in the middle of the home page they flash different things,todays schedule and the ceremonies from yesterday,click on which one you want as it flashes on..The video of the procession and funeral isn't listed in the regular column, although the ceremony at Point Magu was listed among the most recent.

I was watching the group of folks discussing President Reagan on C-SPAN, including Peggy Noonan. She mentioned an appearance of President Reagan in 1984 at the school called the Crimson Tide. (that would be the University of Alabama.) Husband has told me of this appearance many times. Peggy's point in her story was that the young folks at Bama "got it" and that those young folks are now 40 and they "get it." She could not be more right. I called husband at work to tell him about what she said, and he had to tell me again that the best part of Reagan's trip to Tuscaloosa was a stop he made at a McDonalds on the way to the airport. I guess that President Reagan saw the McDonalds and said he wanted to eat there. They stopped the motorcade, sealed off the restaurant to anyone else who might want to come in, and the President went in and ate at McDonalds for the only time of his presidency. (to hubby's knowledge) The folks who were already inside were invited by the President to join him, and hubby believes that President Reagan paid for everyone out of his own pocket. Then he went on his way.

Years later, I ate at that McDonalds a number of times. There were pictures of the President on the wall. They were mighty proud to have served him.

I checked back and the ceremony is indeed on the list of videos..I found it by clicking "more videos" at the bottom of the list.I am watching one now...as I missed part of the things I wanted to see.

I realize that the burial is private, but I'm a bit confused. Is it going to be televised, but by invitation only, or completely private(i.e. No T. V coverage).

Nice story. President Reagan was a real man.

This has probably been said elsewhere, but it occurred to me yesterday - The boomers came of age this week; their eternal adolscence is over. They are old enough to have witnessed Reagan's presidency, the media coverage of it, the truth of it and the results of it.

They married and had children who learned about America through the lens of the Clinton years.

Now we have had almost 4 years of George W Bush as president.

The contrasts and the message of the contrasts are inescapable.

So boomer parents (or younger parents) have a wonderful opportunity to see what can be a better future for their children, if the values that made America great can be continued, rather than following the self-indulgent values that made us weak.

President and Mrs Reagan are giving us a great gift this week.

The young Marine - perhaps 20 years old - came in on crutches and in uniform. He followed Paul Wolfowitz and was in turn followed by a Ranger Brigadier General. You could tell he was badly wounded and moved slowly on his specially designed crutches. His left arm was amputated above the elbow, and his right arm was amputated just below the elbow. The back of his neck and head was badly scarred and was partially without hair.

All three stopped for a minute, behind the passing line of people, somberly facing the President's casket. The Marine then shifted his crutches to his left hand and then saluted with the stump of his right arm.

What a picture of tribute. What a picture of sacrifice. What a moment of respect and admiration. It was a moment Ronald Reagan would have surely treasured. It was a moment for the ages.

Bob Dole stood quietly in the back of the Rotunda on the other side, almost hidden behind the crowd of people moving through the line.
