No idea how they were chosen; but judging from the medals on their uniforms, I would guess they are some of the best examples of our enlisted military.

The look on Clinton's face was instantly recognizable, just as if it were an individual person instead of a chemically induced condition. When that "individual" has ravaged lives you love, you don't forget its face.

The Guy is President Ford and his wife.
I work at Warner Bros. We had a moment of silence for President Reagan on the lot this morning at 10 am. I showed up at the memorial plaque we have here commemorating Warners employees in uniform during WWII - Ronald Reagan's is among the names there inscribed. I expected to be alone, but there were about a dozen other employees gathered, mostly security guards. Someone had put two white roses at the base of the plaque for RR. Because I wore my black suit, the others assumed I was an executive - the shock on their faces said it all. I had to assure them I'm a wage slave like them, just wearing the suit because it's a national day of mourning. We stood with heads bowed for a few minutes, then quietly went about our business.
Ronald Reagan began his Hollywood career here, spent fifteen years at the studio and made almost all of his best pictures here. And not one person from the executive ranks, not one star, not one celebrity was there with us to honor his memory. Just the ordinary working stiffs.
Somehow, I find that appropriate, and wonderful. Average Americans cared about Ronald Reagan, as he cared for them. He lives in our hearts forever.
That is awful....Clinton slepping and Jerry Ford doing something with his nose.
It is President Ford behind President Clinton.
It looks like he is outside.
But here is the problem. One thing we can all agree on here is that the Clintons know how to work a camera. Since they knew they were being photographed or could be on camera at any moment during the ceremony, and since the Senator from NY has taken some heat for appearing less than reverent at other public ceremonies of mourning, wouldn't you THINK they would make every effort not to APPEAR to be sleeping or mocking?
And since they did not put forth that effort, one is left wondering whether they went home to high fives from all their hangers-on, who might consider their behavior "cool" and admirable.
Don't they realize, if they indeed are as calculating as in the past they have been, that sitting there with reverent, alert expressions would have earned them good marks by even their detractors?

Then again, this is all contingent on what I think of the copy I taped off the tv when I get home. I probably will just go with that, but since the tape is old and may have bad quality, I may have to get a DVD from you. We will see.
Drudge has a picture of wacko protesters. Note in the Picture they have a no left turn sign dead center in their midst. The officer saluting as the coffin passes with teh impotent protesters is also a nice touch in the picture.
I did not want to sully this thread with their images.
That was my first seeing of it.

The charitable spin by the Fox personnel was . . . charitable but not so honest except for one of them.
