...former Air Force Chief of Staff Merrill A. McPeak

In my experience, a man hated just as much as Clinton by military members.

Fitting he should be for Kerry.

Adm. William J. Crowe Jr., though named chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under Reagan, supported Clinton in 1992. Crowe has endorsed Kerry. Retired Adm. Stansfield Turner served as Carter's director of central intelligence and has also endorsed Kerry.

Adm. William Crowe? Adm. Stansfield Turner? Stansfield Turner?? Sheesh. On the bright side, Hack didn't put himself on this list of old farts.

He was probably off at the mall looking for that perfect little black outfit....

it would make sense for the bush campaign to get a bunch of former foreign service types and maybe political scientists to issue a counter-statement.

What, you didn't like ugly dress uniforms, the Year of "Training", or "Quality" Air Force?

I hadn't noticed that before. FR was really starting to grow at that time. Clinton was facing Monica problems, and Drudge had a link to Free Republic on his page. A lot of us found this site by going to Drudge first.

I'm not sure how long I lurked before signing up to post. Probably a month or so. Finally, there was just something I had to say, so I took the plunge.

That's funny, I found FR the same way, but at the time we had a slow computer and dial up(maybe everyone did in 98). I did lurk for a while then took a few years off. Came back to lurking after 9/11 then eventually jumped in. What a great place to go for a "mental pick-me-up".

Me, too. I linked over from Drudge in the summer and finally registered in December.

RE: How appropriate, his name is "Hoar"

Hmmm. How Very Interesting. .....As in "Left-Media Hoar"...???

...And is this the very SAME 'Hoar' who, up until just a few months ago, was shilling for nutcase Howard Dean (and simultaneously lambasting John Kerry), and who, as head of the U.S. Central Command, helped the ineffectual Clinton bring us the U.S. MILITARY'S BLACKHAWK-DOWN DISASTER IN SOMALIA...???

...see: http://www.geocities.com/way_leroy/ProConVolTwoIssueOnePage7.html

Oh, in case you forgot - as Clinton fervently hopes you WILL - see THIS... from: http://www.g2mil.com/BlackhawkDown.htm

Secretary of Defense Les Aspin and the Clinton Admin didn't want to "send the wrong message" to the civilians of Somalia and denied requests by UN Commander General Montgomery for 70-ton M1 Abrams tanks and 33-ton M2 tracked Bradley. This was after CENTCOM Commander, Marine General Hoar pooh-poohed and stalled Montgomery's requests for armor support for days. This left soldiers "hanging in the breeze" without the necessary force mix to handle the job, and one of the dead Rangers' father was rightfully angered at this and publicly criticized President Clinton. The Somali civilians the Clinton team wanted to appease got gunned down by the hundreds because our men were not shielded by armored vehicles while doing the mission and had to use firepower as their defacto "shield". http://www.g2mil.com/BlackhawkDown.htm

Sigh...

NY Times has an echo chamber now on the Left Coast.
Watch how many papers pick up this dribble just like the poll that shown to be swiss cheese with it's sampling errors.

I've decided that it's the media who is undermining our confidence and our beliefs. And our determination to re-elect W. He will be re-elected. Take it to the bank.

Ah yes, QAF. So now I have to explain every decision that I make and ensure that each airman doesn't have a "better" idea.

Next thing you know, the LAT will run an article titled:

"Rabid, far left leaning democrats plan to vote for John Kerry!"
