STOP MICHAEL MOORE FROM PROFITTING IN HIS ATTACKS ON AMERICA & OUR MILITARY
Moveamericaforward.org ^

Posted on 06/17/2004 9:57:35 AM PDT by truthandlife

“Bash America” filmmaker Michael Moore is about to unleash an attack on the U.S. Military, the heroic men and women of the Armed Forces and our Commander-In-Chief via his film “Fahrenheit 9/11.”

Inexplicably, more than 1,000 theaters have indicated they will proudly broadcast what The Guardian calls an “anti-war/anti-Bush” film – beginning June 25th. And the number keeps growing each day. The goal of the film is abundantly clear: to undermine the war on terrorism.

Moore has said the following about the film:

“Half the movie is about Iraq – we were able to get film crews embedded with American troops without them knowing it was Michael Moore. They are totally f***ed.”

After it was pre-screened, one Blame American First viewer cried, “It made me wanna burn my passport.”

Apparently there are dollar signs in their eyes too.

Michael Moore and his anti-American film distributors are hoping to cash in to the tune of millions of dollars and also change U.S. politics. One British paper noted that “Moore hopes that it will bring down the U.S. government.”

So why are mainstream movie theaters involved in promoting a political advertisement that defames our military, insults our troops and attempts to undermine the public’s support for the War on Terror?

Why are movie theaters showing political propaganda that should be governed by Federal Elections Commission regulations on campaign finance?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*** HOW TO FIGHT BACK *** *** AGAINST MICHAEL MOORE ***

Move America Forward – the national organization working to support our troops and the war on terrorism – has compiled contact information for the leading movie executives in the business.

If you don’t want to see them promoting anti-American propaganda then tell these executives so directly.

Time is short – we must act now to have our voices heard in time to make a difference.

Help us get messages from millions of Americans sent to these film industry executives. Tell others who would be equally outraged by this anti-American movie to visit http://www.MoveAmericaForward.org and join our efforts.

MORE COMMENTS BY AND ABOUT MICHAEL MOORE AND HIS FILM “FAHRENHEIT 9/11”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not ‘insurgents’ or ‘terrorists’ or ‘The Enemy.’ They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow – and they will win.”

-- Michael Moore in his message posted on his website, April 14, 2004

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fahrenheit 9/11 was described as “incredibly superficial and misleading treatment at times.”

-- Lou Lumenick, New York Post

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“It’s representative of the fact that Michael Moore doesn’t always give the whole story and he’s a master of the misleading.”

-- Congressman Mark Kennedy (Minnesota)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the British newspaper, The Guardian:

“Moore was unequivocal about his desire to do everything in his power to help oust President George Bush in this November’s elections.

‘We thought, We cannot leave this to the Democrats this time to f**k it up and lose.’

[Responding to reports that some in the Disney Corporation found the movie unacceptably political and would not therefore distribute the film, Moore said]:

“I won’t let that happen and neither will Harvey Weinstein. People will see this film by hook or crook. I will get this out if it means breaking the law or committing an act of civil disobedience.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Moore has already defamed the passengers who were on board the airplanes hijacked on September 11th:

“The kind of people who fly in airplanes want someone else to clean up their mess; that’s why they let hijackers take the plane.

“The passengers on September 11 were scaredy-cats, because they were mostly white.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“With Moore's customary blend of humor and horror, "Fahrenheit 9/11" accuses the Bush camp of stealing the 2000 election, overlooking terrorism warnings before September 11 and fanning fears of more attacks to secure Americans' support for the Iraq war.”

-- From the cable television network, CNN

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During the presidential primaries, Michael Moore referred to George W. Bush as, among other things, a "deserter.”

Even ABC's Peter Jennings – hardly a fan of President Bush – condemned Moore’s characterization of Bush as a ‘deserter.’ "That’s a reckless charge not supported by the facts.”

It’s time to take action to stop Michael Moore’s “Bash America” film, “Fahrenheit 9/11.”

Michael Moore has attacked our troops, attacked our Commander in Chief and attacked the victims of 9/11 saying:  “The passengers on September 11 were scaredy-cats, because they were mostly white.”

Moore has sought to undermine our military saying that “The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not ‘insurgents’ or ‘terrorists’ or ‘The Enemy.’  They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow – and they will win.”

Now Michael Moore has a new movie coming out, “Fahrenheit 9/11” which according to one British newspaper, Moore “hopes that it will bring down the U.S. government.”

This movie is nothing more than a political campaign advertisement against the war on terrorism, our troops and President Bush.

So why on earth are ANY movie theaters showing this film?  “Fahrenheit 9/11” should be shown as a recruiting video for Al-Qaeda, not in our movie theaters.

Please join us in telling the movie theater companies below your opinion as it relates to their attempt to profit from the showing of “Fahrenheit 9/11.”

Since we are the customers of the American movie theatres it is important for us to speak up loudly and tell the industry executives that we don’t want this misleading and grotesque movie being shown at our local cinema.

We need these executives to be overwhelmed with letters, phone calls and FAXes… in addition to emails.  Sending an email alone is not enough – since in some cases an aide can easily click “DELETE.”

We would like to thank those individuals at Lions Gate Entertainment and IFC Films who support our efforts.

Note:  Please contact us via-email at:  info@MoveAmericaForward.org to report a movie theater playing “Fahrenheit 9/11” which is not listed below.

Man, you've put a lot of time into this haven't you...
How 'bout we just not go to the movie...
If the attendance is down the first week, the theaters where it is showing will pull the movie anyway...

I haven't paid much attention but I believe I read somewhere that around 400 theaters nationwide...

And I would bet that it will be pulled after the first week...that's why Moore is out pushing it...

It's definitely not going to be another "Passion" that's for sure. LOL

‘We thought, We cannot leave this to the Democrats this time to f**k it up and lose.’

So who are "we", and if you are not Democrats, then who the hell are you?

I find these quotes to be quite troubling.

These protests guarantee even more money in Moore's pockets.

If conservatives would just say the film is dishonest and therefore not worthy of comment, it would have died a much quieter death.

Once again, we are our own worst enemy.

I think I'll dig out my old sign and spruce it up ...

Al Qaeda
FAN CLUB

V

... and go stand in front of my local theater.

The last time I used it against 350 local anti-war protesters, I stood alone and stole the front page photo and 25% of the story in our Anchorage paper, from THEIR Rally.

Cars and trucks were swerving as they caught sight of my sign across the street from the assembled DumbocRATS and clueless University Peaceniks. Frowns and angry faces in traffic turned into smiles and horn blasts and thumbs-up for me. When I got home a little old lady had left a VM thanking and God Blessing me. (THAT was my best reward)

I walked away from the experience knowing I had made a difference ... I really put the screws to the local Marxist/peace movement that day, with all their humongous handpainted earth posters, and BLOOD for Oil posters and costumed pigs, and devils w/ GW masks, etc etc and a PA filled with local leftist-luminaries.

It was especially sweet for me since I was aquainted with many of the organizers.

I didn't stand out there with an angry face, screaming [this time] ... instead I was laughing and waving and inviting the passers-by to head across the street and join Hanoi Jane Fonda at the sign-in table. That sure left the late arrivers with quizzical looks. More laughs for me!!

Most fun I've EVER had at a protest [though I do not recommend protesting alone, for obvious reasons]

I'm convinced that sarcasm, wit and humor will come out on top at a Protest Rally if you can just find the right combination ... makes the other side look foolish and laughable.

BTW I found the top part of my al Qaeda sign idea right here on FR, thanks again to an unknown FReeper.

I'm sure Mr. Moore appreciates your opposition more than you might ever know. He is an incredible narcissist, and thrives on conflict. So much so that when he doesn't find it, he invents it.

As with all breeds of troll, of which Moore is a particularly repugnant breed, the more you fight him, the stronger he gets. For a time, he may revel in his ill-gotten vainglory, but his star will soon fade, because he is a one-trick pony.

The fact that less than half of the theaters that originally planned to show Moore's film are actually doing so has far more to do with economics than concern about controversy. Some of the big money-makers in film history packed in crowds while protesters picketed outside.

Those who are not easily amused are already growing weary of hearing Moore sing the same old tired song. Contrary to popular myth, most people are smart enough to see through Moore's puerile propaganda. The ones that can't never will.

But even Joe Average is catching on to what Moore is really all about, and if you listen, you can hear most of America yawning at the news of another Moore movie. Everyone not yawning, whether they are for or against Moore, is nothing more than a customer or an accomplice. That includes both sycophants and protesters alike.

Trust me, he loves it when people get mad and protest against him. It makes him feel important, gives him valuable free publicity and allows him to bill himself as a "controversial" "documentarian" who knows how to "strike a nerve".

For my part, I've decided not to waste any more time on him than necessary, and recommend you do the same. But if you wish to protest and oppose him, that's your right, it's a noble thought and if it's worthwhile to you, then by all means go for it with my blessing.

FRegards,

Imal

(And for the record, there's only one "t" in "profitting".)

In this case I see a clear reason to be critical because the basic theory, that Bush is closely tied to bin Laden, is seriously flawed. Bin Laden has some 600 "immediate family members" by our standards. It's hardly fair to sat ties to any of them are the same as being tied to Osama.

That said, just as happened with DU, conservatives are guaranteeing the success of their enemies because they insist on drawing attention to their message.

......."But if you wish to protest and oppose him, that's your right, it's a noble thought and if it's worthwhile to you, then by all means go for it with my blessing. "

The problem with this is that all it does is call attention to the movie and thereby people will want to see what all the fuss is about. The old adage of things that are forbidden are always more intriguing would probably fit here. I tend to agree with your first sentence about Moore appreciating and thriving on opposition.
