STOP MICHAEL MOORE FROM PROFITTING IN HIS ATTACKS ON AMERICA & OUR MILITARY
Moveamericaforward.org ^

“Bash America” filmmaker Michael Moore is about to unleash an attack on the U.S. Military, the heroic men and women of the Armed Forces and our Commander-In-Chief via his film “Fahrenheit 9/11.”

Inexplicably, more than 1,000 theaters have indicated they will proudly broadcast what The Guardian calls an “anti-war/anti-Bush” film – beginning June 25th. And the number keeps growing each day. The goal of the film is abundantly clear: to undermine the war on terrorism.

Moore has said the following about the film:

“Half the movie is about Iraq – we were able to get film crews embedded with American troops without them knowing it was Michael Moore. They are totally f***ed.”

After it was pre-screened, one Blame American First viewer cried, “It made me wanna burn my passport.”

Apparently there are dollar signs in their eyes too.

Michael Moore and his anti-American film distributors are hoping to cash in to the tune of millions of dollars and also change U.S. politics. One British paper noted that “Moore hopes that it will bring down the U.S. government.”

So why are mainstream movie theaters involved in promoting a political advertisement that defames our military, insults our troops and attempts to undermine the public’s support for the War on Terror?

Why are movie theaters showing political propaganda that should be governed by Federal Elections Commission regulations on campaign finance?

Time is short – we must act now to have our voices heard in time to make a difference.

Help us get messages from millions of Americans sent to these film industry executives. Tell others who would be equally outraged by this anti-American movie to visit http://www.MoveAmericaForward.org and join our efforts.

MORE COMMENTS BY AND ABOUT MICHAEL MOORE AND HIS FILM “FAHRENHEIT 9/11”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not ‘insurgents’ or ‘terrorists’ or ‘The Enemy.’ They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow – and they will win.”

-- Michael Moore in his message posted on his website, April 14, 2004

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fahrenheit 9/11 was described as “incredibly superficial and misleading treatment at times.”

-- Lou Lumenick, New York Post

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“It’s representative of the fact that Michael Moore doesn’t always give the whole story and he’s a master of the misleading.”

-- Congressman Mark Kennedy (Minnesota)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the British newspaper, The Guardian:

“Moore was unequivocal about his desire to do everything in his power to help oust President George Bush in this November’s elections.

‘We thought, We cannot leave this to the Democrats this time to f**k it up and lose.’

[Responding to reports that some in the Disney Corporation found the movie unacceptably political and would not therefore distribute the film, Moore said]:

“I won’t let that happen and neither will Harvey Weinstein. People will see this film by hook or crook. I will get this out if it means breaking the law or committing an act of civil disobedience.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Moore has already defamed the passengers who were on board the airplanes hijacked on September 11th:

“The kind of people who fly in airplanes want someone else to clean up their mess; that’s why they let hijackers take the plane.

“The passengers on September 11 were scaredy-cats, because they were mostly white.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“With Moore's customary blend of humor and horror, "Fahrenheit 9/11" accuses the Bush camp of stealing the 2000 election, overlooking terrorism warnings before September 11 and fanning fears of more attacks to secure Americans' support for the Iraq war.”

-- From the cable television network, CNN

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During the presidential primaries, Michael Moore referred to George W. Bush as, among other things, a "deserter.”

Even ABC's Peter Jennings – hardly a fan of President Bush – condemned Moore’s characterization of Bush as a ‘deserter.’ "That’s a reckless charge not supported by the facts.”

Exactly what I did to the man from Loews who e-mailed me back.

I asked if his threaters supported Hezbollah over our military troops. No reply so far...LOL!

It is high time that the Justice Department starts looking into some of these anti-American zealots and when the first charges of treason are filed, that is when these cowards will shut their mouths, crawl back under their rocks on their pinko bellies.

Since talk show host Melanie Morgan has been in the forefront of the 'Stop Fahrenheit 911' campaign, it's interesting to note her show is carried by a radio station owned by Disney.

Since Eisner refused to distribute Moore's film, he has a heavy stake in ensuring that 'Fahrenheit' fails, otherwise he will have a lot of pissed-off stockholders to answer to. Ya gotta follow the money.

This do-whatever-it-takes-to-stop-the-film-from-being-seen is starting to smack of the gestapo-like tactics to kill Gibson's 'The Passion of The Christ'.

The good thing about protesting movies is that it gives freepers all across the country a chance to do some street protesting, even in small towns, etc.

The bad thing about protesting movies has to do with the reasons people see movies: to be ahead of the curve, to be on top of things, to be able to discuss what's hot. That means protest will draw people to the movie instead of keeping people away, as some on this thread have already pointed out.

We had a movie, The Last Temptation of Christ, playing here in NYC, that was one of the worst movies ever made, but the people doing the nonstop protesting outside, praying on the sidewalk, etc., made it a news item, and it thus got coveted "off-the-movie-page" attention in the press and did quite well for about 15 minutes. Since most of the press is liberal, they succeeded in making the pious folks look like idiots on top of it all.

How much are you being paid by Moore's publicists to so obsessively promote his evil, treasonous and subversive un-and-anti-American lies here?

You aught be ashamed of yourself -- or institutionalized!

Those are your choices.

Regarding your post "The theaters and distributors signed on AFTER the controversy, and largely because of the controversy."

Actually, Michael Moore's people were finding less and less theater interest as movie theater execs and local operators learned more about the film.

Daily Variety revealed that theaters were DISAPPEARING from the films f911tix.com website - and it turns out that what Moore and his distributors (Lions Gate Films and IFC Films) were doing was listing movie theaters who had NOT yet decided whether to show the film, but who they were trying to persuade.

The folks promoting Moore's film were getting press scrutiny over why so few theaters were being added so they tried to cook their numbers but then got caught.

The exposure of the message of the film and American's displeasure with it TO MOVIE THEATER REPRESENTATIVES makes them have to confront how comfortable they feel serving as the promotion machine for a blatantly political message (and one that undermines the war on terrorism). That makes them shy away from the film.

Whereas, with Passion of the Christ, when there was attention called to its message (the death and resurrection of Christ), well, showing a movie to a nation that is overwhelmingly Christian puts them in the mainstream... not advocating extreme right or left politics.

That's the difference - and that's why Passion was in more than 3,000 theaters, but "Fahrenheit 9/11" has been meeting increased resistance from theater operators in showing the film.

I respectfully disagree.

When Michael Moore has the mainstream media and Hollywood to promote him he can reach pretty much all of America. Dateline NBC and The Tonight Show both had him on last night. He's in this months playboy. On MTV several times. On every network, every newspaper and almost every news/talk radio station.

YOU can choose to ignore him all you want. But with his $10 million advertising budget and all the free media he wants from the national media (and entertainment media fawning all over him because Hollywood stars love him), well, YOUR choice to ignore him just means you won't hear all the gaga googoo attention he gets everywhere else.

The question isn't whether people will hear from Michael Moore, the question is whether people will also hear from the OTHER side.

Please note - I capitalized some words, but not to convey a hostile tone to you, just adding emphasis.
