Bush Ahead In Fox News Poll (Election 2004 Polls - General)
More good polling news for President Bush. On the heels of the just released Gallup poll, Fox News just came out with a poll that shows President Bush opening up a small lead on Senator Kerry.
Bush 48% Kerry 42%
Bush 47% Kerry 40% Nader 3%
Bush's overall job approval stands at 49%, mirroring the Gallup poll. Also, his approval rating split on the economy, 46%/49%, matches the Gallup poll.
As an added bonus, Fox News also did some state polling. The results from Ohio and Pennsylvania contradict the polls from this morning.
OHIO Bush 47% Kerry 43%
Bush 45% Kerry 41% Nader 4%
PENNSYLVANIA Bush 47% Kerry 44%
Bush 46% Kerry 41% Nader 3%
MICHIGAN Kerry 44% Bush 43%
Bush 42% Kerry 40% Nader 5%
FLORIDA Bush 50% Kerry 41%
Bush 48% Kerry 38% Nader 3%
I will update the electoral scoreboard later tonight as there are definitely some changes in the totals. The entire poll was done June 22-23.
The ARG and Quinnipiac polls released today for OH and PA, respectively, are about 9%-10% more pro-Kerry than these Fox/News Dynamic polls. ARG and Quinnipiac polls in those states have been more pro-Kerry than most other polls in the recent past, so I tend to believe the Fox poll over those two polls. In other words, this is EXCELLENT news for the President's reelection chances.
*GREAT NEWS PING!*
There are more polls that there are electoral votes....it's tiring, and all probably meaningless, until the one final poll that counts, the vote....don't you ever wish, even just a tad, that FR could be a "poll-free" zone for a few months...not one thread..except for Dales', about them?
Woohoo!
"Quinnipiac polls released today for OH and PA" ????
Mistakenly for Buchannon 6%
No wonder Kerry is begging McCain.
*PING*
The Florida result is consistent with SurveyUSA's recent polling.
See SurveyUSA for Oklahoma too :)

This is all excellent but will it continue? Kerry will likely get a VP bump and a convention bump next month. Hopefully that will be temporary. We need to maintain this momentum aside from that, and add another +5 and be up 10 or more on Kerry nationwide, and move the campaign to PA, MI, NJ, WI, IA, NM, OR, and MN in the late summer.
Personal preference only, not arguing anyone else's taste - but I enjoy the polls (when Dubya is leading.)
I'm a politics fan, and it's a lot like a football game to me. The score changes. The lead changes.
If my team wins, I'm ecstatic...loses, I'm devastated.
In this Presidential game, I would hope Dubya could run up the score on the opponents. (Back in April/May I thought the best strategery would have been to punt!)
Yeah, but, uh, which polls will we hear about on the evening news?
A few reasons I tend to believe these FNC state polls:
1) They have Nader at the lower end of the single digits for the most part, as opposed to the other polls showing Nader getting 7% and such. That's a large credibility booster in my judgment since Nader probably isn't going to get anywhere near 6-8% nationally.
2) Florida's result is consistent with the most recent SurveyUSA poll (which also had Bush at 50% and Kerry in the low 40's).
3) Bush's poll numbers have been rebounding as of late.
Good news overall. Keep campaigning like we're down by 10%.
Arlen Specter must certainly be pleased.
WHY DOESN'T FOX NEWS PUT THIS ON THEIR BROADCAST? I HAVEN'T HEARD IT ALL DAY.
