The wife of vice presidential hopeful John Edwards is defending Whoopi Goldberg after the potty-mouthed comedienne attacked President Bush with an X-rated monologue at Thursday night's Kerry-Edwards fundraiser in New York.
Rejecting calls for her husband's campaign to apologize for Goldberg's outburst, Mrs. Edwards said Friday that the anti-Bush tirade was justified.
"A lot of people are going to be angry - there's a lot to be angry about," she told reporters at a fundraising breakfast on Manhattan's West side. "It's a free country and people are going to express that anger."

To put a Machiavellian spin on it--weight is an issue that can play many ways in the mind of the insecure woman (perhaps all women are insecure). I read today that Kerry picked Edwards for the very reason that he expected JE to consolidate the Dem Fem vote. Apparently Kerry worries--the liberal women are not as enthusiastic about him as his success with heiresses would indicate.
I did come on too strong at the beginning of the thread. I admit to trolling--wanted to see what the reaction would be. And, sure enough, objections emerged. Handling this would be hard to do correctly--
But don't ask me to feel sorry on someone grown fat on the largesse of abusing our court system.

It's interesting that you almost never hear what Leahy said to provoke such a response. He accused Cheney of showing favoritism to Halliburton in the awarding of government contracts. In other words, he accused him of unethical and illegal conduct. Perhaps Cheney should have responded by saying, "Do you still beat your wife?" or "How are you and that boy you picked up at the bus station getting along?" but he chose to be more direct.
They will pick up feminists as well. I guess its the whole "metrosexual" thing. But liberals think that is what attractive about men - they think Micheal Kinsely is manly.
I do agree with you about Klinton. Although he was a band major, he could still act a little manly, like playing gold and smoking cigars.

John Edwards is right about one thing, there ARE too Americas. The decent, hardworking, God fearing, country loving America and the democrats.
Her remarks don't surprise me in the least. What can we expect from individuals who want to deny an innocent little soul the right to be born! There is no greater fundamental value than the right to life, and these losers sadly don't embrace it.

John won his first $35 million ( or thereabouts ) by cashing in on his son's death in court. They're as "spiritual" as Michael Berg.

When the Left espouses sane social values they are lying. They have to lie about their valuse because, were they to tell the truth, they would be derided and rejected by the vast majority. They are frauds, and anyone who would vote to put them in power is either ignorant or foolish.

She sure is ugly. Ugliness bubbles up from deep inside us, like methane from under a swamp. If you feel that pinched, bitter hatred, constant dissatisfaction with everything on Earth and the compulsion to spew forth the most venomous, vomitious verbal diarrhea you can is attractive, that's your thing. But don't insist we all find it attractive. Nobody here has (so far) compared her to any part of their anatomy or compared her to various vulgar names for female anatomy.
