The United States Postal Service (USPS) unveiled preliminary designs for a 1950's classic car postage stamp series, including this Nash Healey, Saturday Aug. 14, 2004. The USPS plans to introduce the Sporty Cars of the 50s commemorative stamps tomorrow at the 54th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the world's premier event for classic car enthusiasts in Pebble Beach, Calif. GOPPrincess--I did some checking around in the "OFFISHAL" Nascar Fan Rule Book..Page 3,527 Section FF Row 86 Seat 1 states: "Any fan gear that becomes obsolete because a driver changes sponsor OR number is still valid. The FAN is now part of a special allocation for race driver supporters known as the 'VINTAGE MEMBER' by demonstrating they have LONG supported a driver, through thick and thin. The aformentioned fan gear is OFFISHALLY termed VINTAGE FAN GEAR and is now worth more than two worn teddy bears and a Cabbage Patch doll with a Tonka Truck chaser."
When Mark Martin shifted from Valvoline to Viagra, when DJ switched from Ford to UPS etc, this rule has been in effect and UNCHANGED for hundreds of thousands of laps!

What if you put on your turn signal???
LIVE garage cam this morning....weather looking good thanks to the jet stream!!
My second main man today says this......
"It will be exciting to see if we come from 23rd to the front," Gordon said. "Jeff Gordon starting on the front row is a big advantage for him. But we'll see. The first couple of laps will be real important.
"But if I win here, it's kind of anticlimactic. Everybody expects me to win at the road course. I had my own team back in 2000, we started dead last and finished third or fourth. There's no reason we shouldn't be able to come from 23rd to the front."
With pit strategy?
"We're going to beat him (Jeff Gordon) half a second a lap," Robby said. "We're going to catch him and pass him and go to the front. There's no reason we can't beat him straight up. We don't need race strategy or anything. "We came from 20th last weekend to get to him. There's no reason we can't come from 23rd on a road course, which is probably an easier place to pass than Indianapolis
I would love to see that, Carmel being one of the most beautiful places on earth then add in those cars......WOW.

Notes: This is the first time Goodyear has brought this specific combination of tires to Watkins Glen . . . Cup teams have already run this same combination at the series' other road course at Infineon Raceway in June . . . while this rear tire is unique to the series' two road courses, Cup teams ran this front-tire (D-6836) on the right side at Martinsville earlier this season . . . as at Infineon, Nextel Cup teams will not run inner liners in their tires at Watkins Glen.
My team got clobbered last weekend, plus I failed to update drivers this week. I'm a dead man.
I always do better when I forget to update my team. Maybe I can put that to use next season.
